A New Mission, A New Opportunity

Entry 62:

Linus Ozias POV:

I do sometimes wonder why Heaven was split into multiple levels, as the current structure seems to play into further separation.

The Layout Of Heaven:

First Heaven:

Heaven's "first floor" is where the future Brave Saints and low-level Angels generally reside. It also serves as the front lines of Heaven's defenses.

Second Heaven:

A place filled with darkness where the Angels observe the stars and where they confine Angels who have sinned. It is also where those involved in the Tower of Babel incident are imprisoned.

Third Heaven:

The home of the souls of the dead who have been taken to Heaven. According to Griselda Quarta, it's so vast that it's almost immeasurable, and it is the Heaven worshippers believe in. It is also connected to Purgatory, which Qlippoth and Cao Cao would use to enter Heaven. It is also the place where the Tree of Life is located.

Fourth Heaven:

The Garden of Eden is where the legend of Adam and Eve began. This is the place where the Tree of Wisdom resides.

Fifth Heaven:

The former home of the members of Grigori before they fell. It is now filled with research institutes where the Brave Saints were created, possibly from Azazel's influence.

Sixth Heaven:

Known as "Zebel". The current core of Heaven is where the Seraphs, such as Michael and Gabriel, reside. It is protected by a large gate that only a God-class being could break through.

Seventh Heaven:

Home to the Sacred Gear System and God's System. Also, where the God of the Bible once resided in Heaven when he was alive. It has a defense system that teleports trespassers away.

It is this separation that creates weakness, and without anyone to monitor the various systems, they are open to being taken advantage of. Still, I will take care of these possibilities of breaking in.

For now, I need to report to Michael on the progress of my new organization as well as see the progress my technology has made in analyzing God's system.

As such, a return to the 6th heaven and the giant gate opens before me, which, while grand, is a bit much. I guess that was the aesthetic God was going for.

And upon entering, I see Michael waiting for me as he just stresses that I walk with him.

The archangel then begins after a couple of minutes of silence. "Brother, I do not know what has brought this change upon you, and I would like to know personally if this was good or ill."

I ponder how to answer this and soon respond, "Lord Michael, Remember when I showed you that video of that woman who slayed multiple stray devils? When I found her, she was on the verge of death by a stray devil."

" The only reason I found her was because I heard a Voice beckoning me towards her, and do you know what she told me when I slayed the devil?" 

Michael nearly stops in his tracks and asks tentatively, " What did she say, brother Anakim?" I simply say, " She wanted me to kill her, to end her suffering, but I refused and healed her injuries."

I paused as I stared off toward the system. "But that was not what shocked me. It was the fact that that woman did not even believe in us and that she believed that no one would help her."

Before Michael could say anything, I continued, "And what she said confirmed my thought process that we require a more direct hand as we have become so detached that the only people that believe in us are the highest members of the church, and even fewer actually witness our being."

But Michael soon interjects, " That separation is for a reason, brother. If anyone were to ask about the fate of God, we would not be able to lie to them, thus bringing this entire Heaven down.

"Yet that same fear keeps us bound and weak, Lord Michael. The last time you even left heaven was hundreds of years ago. People need to know that others are watching out for them for both their benevolent and malevolent acts."

And I mean that to this day, I still keep an eye on Asia and keep in contact with her; it has helped me remain grounded. It reminds me of why I continue this other than just completing the quest.

After I say this, Michael and I continue to walk in silence as he ponders what I said while I give him my report.

After the report completion, Michael asked me something that shocked me: "Brother Anakim, in light of your recent successes, I must ask you for another favor."

I raise my eyebrow and nod for him to continue. "As we have discovered from the reports you gave us, the Fallen have entered Japan in search of sacred gears, and from our more recent reconnaissance, they have taken refuge in a church and even abandoned it is still Church property."

He then hands me a folder of the relevant information as he defines the mission: "Brother, first you must gain permission to investigate the church from the Yokai leader in Kyoto, and once you have gained permission to enter the town of Kuoh investigate the Fallen and deal with them as you see fit."

I then ask the needed question: "What of the devils? While Kuoh is on loan from the Yokai faction, that town is still under their jurisdiction."

Michael then states, "I have already gained permission from Satan Leviathan to investigate them, and I would assume they would have let the sisters know as well."

But then another question needs to be asked: why would the sisters of the Satans not just deal with them themselves? 

"If you are wondering why the sisters of the Satans just don't deal with them themselves, they most likely will fear provoking a war as well; the Fallen may be there on Azazel's orders. They may possibly harm the Japanese people." Michael says as if reading my mind.

So essentially, he wants me to investigate them and see if they are actively harming innocents, and once they do, I can act.

Knowing the Fallen involved Mittelt, Kalwarner, Dohnaseek, and Raynare with Freed, they will slip up as they are either sadistic or idiotic. Kalwarner has the most emotional control, but that is not saying much.

  "I will accept this mission, Lord Michael. When should I depart?" I ask as Michael says, " You should leave immediately, and brother, good luck, and may father walk with you."

I give the leader of Heaven a slight bow as I leave the sixth heaven and smile as this presents the perfect opportunity to analyze the boosted gear. 

And deep down, I am slightly nervous about meeting the leader of the Yokai as I may have had a slight infatuation with the woman as I am a sucker for nine tails, in addition to the fact that her character expanded during the original story and, fanfictions make her seem like a lovely woman.

But I will have to play this straight as that woman has had hundreds of years of political experience, so I will need to watch my every word and action.

Because unlike in most fan fiction, I do not believe I will show up right as Yasaka's daughter is being kidnapped again, right? Right?
