CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

Muhammad's POV

Tuesday the 20th of August.

"Don't worry about him soon" the in charge assured me.

There was a moment of silence as he came back and forth to park the rest of his things while yelling "you would pay for this one day, you would and I promise you the day would be sooner than you think and everyone here would be my witness trust me and you know better than I do that all this would come to an end sooner or later, and when that time comes I would be there to say I told you so" or something like that.

"Don't mind him son?" the head of the firm said as he shut the door close, the harm was already done and I could hear people already whispering about the situation trying to come up with their theory and stuffs like that trying to look for a loop whole that doesn't even exist.

"Well the damage has already been done and now everyone's attention is here," I said as I buried my head in the desk.

"Oh! Don't worry you would soon get used to the attention the way people can't keep their eyes off you when you walk in a room you would soon get the hang of it sooner or later" he said as he smiled at me, he's smile was different from any I have ever seen his mouth was shut close and his lips folded into each other I could barely tell it was a smile not until I looked at his eyes and saw it squeezed and lines were around it that was how I knew he was smiling, the head of the firm seamed like a very nice guy honestly I have never seen this side of him before he was always he strict that doesn't take nonsense from anyone I guess I never knew his that much since I only saw him from afar not until the day he called me up to his office I have never been that close to his face not have I been the only one with him but here I am sitting opposite an office table my office table with him on the other side, how things change for the better.

"I doubt I would," I said as I shrugged my shoulder as he stood up from his seat.

"Trust me son" he began as he placed his hands on both my shoulder "you would get used to it" he added as he removed his hands off my shoulders and began to walk out of the office.

"Okay I guess," I said casually.

"You would" he repeated as he closed the door behind him, well I doubt I would though I knew the boss to be a very strict person and a mood-setter kinda guy because any room he walks in it's like he just has a way of changing the atmosphere somehow like right now the room was a bit awkward when the chief of the editor was in it but immensely the director came in the mood became less hostile and freer even though I was not comfortable but I felt it become freer like the air that was trying to choke me was now breathable again.

"So what the heck just happened?" I said as I looked around the room to examine it, there wasn't much in the room as he had parked almost every single thing including the books on the shelves, I guess I would have to restock them again as I continued moving my eyes around the room I couldn't help but notice how big it was from all the gigantic paintings that were hung in the walls to the tiny different sections it had, there was a wall for books and a sofa making it the library section, there was this table with three chairs facing each other, there was also a couch on the other side which made it the casual side the office was undead big and am sure it can be used got at least three people but here it is been given to one person.

"Knock knock" someone knocked at the door I wasn't expecting anyone at this time of the day but maybe it was just an official visit.

"Come in," I said as the door knob turned as the door opened, I was shocked to see John behind the door.

"Good morning," he said as he walked into the office with some files in his hands as he made way for me and my desk.

"Hey! Morning," I said cheerfully as he found his way and sat down close to me.

"What's going on?" He asked in a whispering tone as he dropped the files on the table "here you go I was asked to drop this off here" he said joyfully like he never asked the first question.

"If I told you I understand a thing then I would be lying to you, thank you for the files," I said as I also whipped.

"By the way what are the files for?" I questioned.

"Well I think they are for the editor-in-chief to asses them and I think to evaluate them he said casually the papers were much they look like a mountain of sheets stacked up together and they want me to go through this and still have time for myself.

"I don't think I can be able to do all this I think before 4 pm when the next news is due," I said as I began to shuffle through the papers in total confusion "who wrote this thing and how do they expect me to finish all this today that's madness complete madness," I said angrily as I pushed the stack of papers making it lose its stand and some of them falling from the stash.

"Don't act like this" John said as he picked up the papers rearranging them "if you start now you might just finish before that time?" he said with a simple on his face.
