Negotiations

We were ready to head out, we headed outside the hidden dungeon onto the normal dungeon. Then the system window popped up.

"player [nythe] is trying to bring peace between the slime population and the city of beginning. You can either help them and get an unknown reward or defeat them and gain high level equipment."

Shit, this is broadcasted worldwide! And this only happens to very important quests, and the players who is responsible for the mission will have his name highlighted in purple.

We walked up stairs and surely enough there were people who saw me, and the slime, but they all ran outside.

And then we ran outside, there was an entire army of players waiting for us, so the people who ran was trying to warn everyone, but even if they are an army, even if they are overleveled or have better equipment.

I still have years of experience! They charged towards us, and so did i. I threw fireballs at them, many dodged but the people behind them were hit, but none have died.

Considering I'm part of a mission they won't get bounties if they kill me, because I'm protecting monsters.

The first to hit me was a guy with a giant shield that had embroidery in it, to prevent it i used ice control the slow speed and then stab him from the side.

Another was gonna hit me with a one sided axe to my right, i casted fireball on him and it didn't do much but it caught on fire making the weapon break.

An arrow was heading in my direction so i used the sword to block it, i don't have an aoe skill, so it will be troublesome if i get surrounded.

And then my prayers were answered... A lot of low level magic was casted towards me. "let's see if you can survive this!"

All the spells were about to hit me, but the slime folks blocked it for me. "you ok?" i nodded my head in reply, we headed towards the city while taking heavy fire, but it looks like they don't even notice.

We arrived at the gate but it was closed... This must be because they thought of them as monsters, however there are 2 skills that all slime folks have.

Deform, and repel, deform can make them turn into water like substance, but they can still move, repel is like a defensive skill towards blunt physical attacks.

The chief said "please get ready" it seems i don't have to say it, i was launched into the air just enough to get to the walls, there were spears about to stab through me.

But i casted ice control to create an ice shield, i defended, but they pushed me off, making me fall.

But i grabbed through the stone gaps and i climbed over, and then i took a leap of faith. And then i took a safe landing on the slime folk.

The soldiers were a bit unresponsive, there were little to no guards on the ground, all of them were in the walls.

We took this chance and headed for the castle as fast as we can, we were met by the Royal guards but we took care of them easily.

Then we rushed inside, the Lord was sitting in his throne, a lot of royal guards were guarding him.

They tried to defend him but there was no success, until there were 3 guards left, the king said "halt!" and then he sighed.

"What is it that you wish? Wealth? Power? Or... Would you perhaps want to kill me?"

"take whatever you want just... Don't hurt my people..."

He was always an honest lord, but his son betrayed him and became part of the demon king's army, as a death knight...

I told him "we wish for peace between the city, and the slime folk." he was surprised at this and said "is that all?!? You come barging in! Hurting my men! Just for peace!?!"

I replied "I'm sorry sir, but it was your men that closed the gates, ordered hundreds of people to kill us. But we didn't kill any of them."

He sighed and said "I'm sorry about that, it is just... Because your bringing monsters! I should've known better... Yes i agree! For peace... Now what else? I can tell you want more..."

I smiled and said "the slime folk is in need of food desperately, we only want, 5,000 rats, 6 cattle, 20 chickens, 25 kilograms of grain, and 5 acres of land near the city for future trading."

"and what kind of trading will that be? My agreement will depend on that..." and he took the bait...

"as you know slime creatures are beings of concentrated mana. However normal slime do not have intelligence, therefore they can only be used to help take the potion grade to the next level... However..."

"don't tell me..." "that's right! Potions! Not the normal kind aswell, extremely potent potions! Not only that, they also create potent holy water which can turn a corrupted tree into a flowering one!"

"what's more the mana potions made from these slime folk can fully restore the mana of even royal magicians in one drink!"

Considering the game just got released i might be the first to ever the discover the slime folks.

He was overjoyed by this and agreed immediately, but i told him "however we can't always be on the lookout for herbs and water to sell them, that's why the buyer has to provide aswell."

He said "that won't be a problem!"

Reward: manufacturing, alchemy, smithing, herb identification, negotiate (please choose which skill to earn)"

This is... Too good to be true! Normally these skills would be horrible! However anyone can make potions, weapons, or manufacture objects! However they won't be able to get the skill no matter what.

And these skills will increase the quality and effects of the item!
