"NO!!!!!!" I lunged forward, driven by desperation.
"Tesla!" Park called after me.
The chaos caused the enemy to retreat, but I was ready to charge ahead, even if I had to face this ordeal alone. However, the raging inferno from the explosion barred my path. The truck and the gate were engulfed in flames, the fire spreading to the surrounding walls and ground.
Park grasped me firmly around the waist, holding me back. "You can't go through. We have to wait until the fire subsides."
"No! Persephone!!!" I continued to scream her name, praying that she would emerge from the wreckage, miraculously unharmed.
"Let's find water. We need to extinguish the fire. Come on, before they get too far," I commanded, my words filled with urgency.
But upon seeing the condition of our allies, I realized it would be asking too much. They were battered, wounded, and depleted from the relentless battle.
