Phoenix’s POV.
“Take a deep breath,” Maggie crooned from the corner of the room.
I closed my eyes breathing in through my nose. The stench of the burning herbs made my head swim, and the noise of the room faded away as I began to open myself to my subconscious as directed by the elder Star Seeker, and her daughter. I reached out, finding Fin first. My wolf confused by my presence tried to veer away from me, but according to Henrietta and Maggie, I would need to establish a firm connection with Fin before I dived into the shadows.
‘Would you stop running from me?’ I begged Fin.
‘You’re in here while you should be out there fighting to keep our mate alive!” Fin shouted back at me.
‘That’s what I’m trying to do you stubborn a**,” I groaned at Fin, chasing him around the corner of a wall he threw up.
‘Then give me control,’ Fin said, jumping out in front of me. ‘I’ll hunt the b*stards down that dared to damage our mate.’
