Fated to the King of Death

"The only way to end this war is by breaking your curse," explained the priestess and the eye of the goddess. "You were born as an unfortunate child, and that's why we were cursed along with you." "You always make such absurd claims but never tell me how to lift this curse," Olive retorted, his frustration evident in his gritted teeth. "The solution to your question lies in a human girl, one born with the sun in her eyes," she stated, dropping her staff and she laid down on her chair. "You must find this girl and form a union with her." Olive frowned, thoroughly disgusted by the idea, and in his anger, he scoffed, "You quack! None of your past prophecies were accurate, and yet you still claim to be the eyes of the goddess?" His frustration mounting, he rose from his seat and approached the old priestess with seething rage. "I bet Father wouldn't mind if I snap your neck in half, I am cursed anyways, I don't see anything wrong with getting more curses." "How dare you suggest that a pure-blooded vampire prince, the pride of my clan, should mate with a weak and lowly human? Do you not realize how much I despise them? They are no better than cattle! You insolent witch!" As he reached out to grab her, he noticed something unusual – she was asleep. His doubtfulness grew. She had the audacity to fall asleep in the presence of her prince! This would be reason enough to end her life. But she was too still for slumber. Reluctantly, he tapped her, but there was no response. Then he checked her pulse, confirming his suspicion—she was, indeed, lifeless. Khalilah's fate took an unexpected turn when she was abducted and forcibly separated from her family to wed a mysterious man. Little did she know that he was more than just a deranged individual.

The Betrayal

Olive paced around his office, the fury was getting to him but he didn't want his anger to cloud his judgment, but what he didn't understand was why a mere human brat ridiculed him continuously and what he wanted to know was how long he would continue to endure her insubordination.

He is the king and he isn't answerable to anyone, not to talk of a brat, even though she had been taken to her chambers in the wisteria court, the most prominent and the most beautiful place in the whole of Nosferatia, the maids complained she refused the meals they had given to her.

Olive's fist tightened instinctively, the priestess talked about this human girl like she was some kind of an angel who would set him free from the shackles of his curse, but apart from her golden eyes which were very rare, there was nothing special about her.

Maybe she was the wrong one again, she better be the right one or he would make her regret the day she was born, most of the human girls brought to him feared him greatly and obeyed his orders even before he spoke them, they offered him their body and their sustenance, and he took it whenever he liked it.

But this one… She was the stubbornest little thing he had ever seen, disrespectful and filled with disobedience.

Olive had agreed with himself, that he was going to tell her everything, so she could quit daydreaming about going back. That was the main reason why he had summoned her to his office in the dark-veiled quarters, where limited people were allowed to come.

The door opened and instead of his future queen, Khalilah, it was the head maid, Ruby. Her bright red hair, flickered in the light as she stepped further into the room with her head bowed respectfully.

Olive stirred in his seat his eyes flashed with anger.

"Where is the queen?" He asked curiously because the only reason anybody would not show up to the presence of their king if summoned was when they were dead and now Olive was wondering if Khalilah was dead.

"Her grace has refused to grant your request, and I repeat in her words "I don't wish to see him."' Something snapped in Olive's chest, and that was the thin cord holding his patience.

"Since when did I start making requests?" His voice descended on Ruby, and the words were made of pressure that forcefully pressed her to the ground. "Have you gone senile to come and tell me that sort of thing?"

Ruby paled as she realized she had messed up, beads of perspiration formed on her head, and she trembled fixing her eyes on the ground, she prayed silently that he wouldn't kill her.

"P-Pardon me, Your Majesty! I…I made a mistake!" She cried miserably but her pleas only seemed to annoy him even more, he resisted the bloodthirsty urge to kill her.

"Guards!" Two of them rushed in and he sighed again.

"Throw her in the dungeon, she is to remain there for a week without any nutritional supplements." They bow their heads slightly and haul her up.

"Meanwhile, drag Khalilah over here!"

Olive was so done with trying to be understanding, if she didn't respect his position as a king he might as well forget she was about to be his queen.

"Get your filthy hands off me! Let me go!" Olive could hear her annoying voice right from the hallways, and a small headache built up, he hadn't had a headache in a century and now, a stubborn brat was doing him the favor.

Khalilah was throwing a tantrum just like a kid, she struggled against the guards as they dragged her into the office, she was thrown to the ground and forced to bow her head. Nevertheless, she stubbornly raised her head, her golden eyes met Olive's hard ones and he was suddenly impressed by her courage.

"Tell them to unhand me at once!" She glared at Olive, barely resisting the urge to curse at him.

"No, I will not." He teased.

"Who do you think you are?" she yelled her eyes staying glued on his and it was glowing dangerously Olive was amused, a human had never looked at him like that before, it was as though she wanted to tear him apart.

"The King, what about you?"

Olive's eyes scanned her and he noticed the reason for her anger and embarrassment, she was dressed in her undergarment, it wasn't too transparent but it was transparent enough for him to see details of her perfectly rounded breast.

He smirked in satisfaction at the physical assessment, and his eyes proceeded to view the other details, like her collarbones and others, even though he wasn't in any way attracted to her; she noticed his ogling eyes and she tried to cover herself with her arms sneering the words at him.

"You perverted bastard!"

Olive's eyes flickered back to her and he sighed before nodding towards the guard that stood on her lift, understanding the assignment, he swung Khalilah toward himself and backhanded her on the right cheek; she fell to the floor clutching her cheek in one hand.

A small gasp escaped her parted lips as a response to the assault.

"My queen speaks such foul words in the presence of her king, I wonder where she learned those profanities from." Olive crossed his long legs over the other and he picked up his wine goblet and brought it to his lips.

Khalilah's eyes became glossy with tears but she still glared so hard at him.

"Know this, for every wrong word you choose you'll receive a smack from each of them."

She was pulled from the ground and made to stand on her feet.

"You're insane if you think I—" Before she could finish, she was smacked again but this time by both guards. "Let go of me!"

She yells at them, her chest heaving dangerously, and both of her cheeks have turned red.

"Tell them to stop hitting me!" she yelled at him, and he didn't like her tone, so he ignored her, but secretly Olive enjoyed it, he was curious to see just how much she could take before she gave up the tough girl act.

She struggled desperately to free herself from their grips but it was all futile.

"What part of I don't want to be here do you not understand?" She said stubbornly and Olive permitted the guards to hit her again and they did.

The glare wasn't there anymore, Olive noticed it and smirked again she would break soon enough.

"Stop hitting me, you monsters!" They smacked her again and Khalilah burst into tears, blood streaked out of one of her nostrils.

She quieted when she felt the thick liquid streak out of her nose, and excruciating pain racketing from her cheeks to her jaw; this wasn't a bully it was an assault, and now she was bleeding, she noticed that being stubborn wouldn't work in her favor.

Her sniffling and sobbing went on for about five minutes, Olive smirked with the knowledge that she knew her place now. "Do you have anything else to say?" he asked and she shook her head.

"But you should." He teased and in defeat, she raised her head to look at him, her face was now swollen, and her eyes were puffy, red, and filled with tears.

"I'm sorry." She squeaks silently, that's not what he was expecting but an apology is just as good.

"You May leave us." He ordered the guards and they released her, taking their leave to their positions outside the door.

Khalilah stumbled a few times as she felt her eyes spin, before she was able to regain her balance, she stood there rigidly still crying and stifling, she wiped the blood with the back of her hand.

"You may please have your seat, Khalilah," Olive said motioning for her to come closer and obediently she walked towards him quietly and sat down on the sofa that was next to him.

She sat wordlessly, looking away from him, her face grew even more sore as the time passed, Olive could also spot a swell on her lips.

"I want to go home." She whispered almost inaudibly, she was knotting her fingers realization dawning on her, and Olive chuckled because he felt she was now trying to negotiate with him. "I-I miss my family so much and when I thought about your proposal, I realized that I cannot marry you, I'm still a teenager."

She was very cautious with her choice of words, Olive nodded, sometimes violence is the solution.

"Well, I'm sure your family misses you too, but they know you're safe and with me." He emptied the liquid in the goblet and dropped it on the small glass table in front of him, and her betrayed eyes snapped in his direction.

"What do you mean?" She queries.

"Your family is aware that you belong to me and that is why you brought to stay with that old hag. They probably think I killed you or something, I can guarantee you that nobody is looking for you."

He told her a little bit harsher than intended, the truth is he was in a hurry to get it through her head so she could stop all this baby act of hers.

"You're lying!" She was back to raising her voice impudently. "They'll never do something like that to me, you are lying."
