Chapter 16: Encounter at the Hotel

Night had fallen.

Neon lights began to flicker, illuminating the city's night sky.

After coming out of Zhao Qitian's office, Lian Xinying asked the driver to take her father's belongings back first.

"Miss, aren't you coming back with me?" the driver asked, after placing the items in the car.

"No," Lian Xinying said without elaborating, and after sending the driver away, she got into Zhao Qitian's car.

Zhao Qitian asked suspiciously, "Who is this person? Calling you 'Miss'? Your family's driver should have resigned, right?"

"I'm staying at Yan Ye's place temporarily; this is his family's driver."

"Oh, I haven't really seen your birth mother, but seeing how beautiful you are, your mom must have been a beauty."

Lian Xinying did not explain this point.

She had watched the surveillance video of her father on the rooftop before he jumped, and he had been there for over an hour before taking the plunge.

During that hour, Lian Xinying didn't fast-forward the video; she watched every second very carefully.

"The person I'm taking you to meet now is investigating your dad's case. Whether your dad's case can be overturned or not, he is a key figure. Just call him Uncle Li when you see him," Zhao Qitian took Lian Xinying to a five-star hotel.

After getting out of the car, Lian Xinying followed him into the hotel.

The two of them walked through the lobby one after the other and arrived at the elevator entrance.

After Lian Xinying entered the elevator, the opposite elevator opened, and a person walked out.

Lian Xinying almost instinctively hid behind Zhao Qitian, waiting for her own elevator door to close.

Yan Ye glanced at the numbers lit up on the elevator panel, "Quite a coincidence, the same as you."

As the elevator ascended, Lian Xinying turned her head to the other side, not wanting to look at his face.

However, as she turned her head to the side, she caught sight of his reflection on the mirrored wall of the lift.

Flushed, her face turned red in an instant.

Fortunately, the elevator reached their floor soon, and the four of them stepped out. Yan Ye deliberately slowed his pace, following behind them.

After Lian Xinying followed Zhao Qitian into a room, Yan Ye immediately made a call: "Get some people to room 601 in five minutes, don't ask any questions, just go in and beat them up."
