Chapter 4: Gotta Catch em' All!

In hopes that Misty and the Hero would restore the world the townsfolk pitched in whatever they could to support their quest. After all was gathered up they had 10 potions and 5 revives they also acquired 5 more PokeBalls which brought their total to 15 of them.

Our Hero was starting to get excited as he inspected all the items. He thought the PokeBalls were quite fascinating. Thinking to himself how it could in the future contain his favorite companions. He looked to Misty and said. Well shall we head out then? Alrighty let's get going then we still gotta get you your first Pokemon, so there's no time to waste. With some polite thank yous and subtitle goodbyes they left the PokeMart.

Now outside Hero asks Misty where they should go to get his first Pokemon. She replied. Water Pokemon are the best so we should go check out the lake. Luckily it's not to far from here and we should be able to get there safely with no problems. He simply agreed with her and they headed towards the lake.

Upon reaching the lake Misty began getting excited to see what kind of water Pokemon they might encounter. As she visited this place often and normally knew of all the kinds that showed up things have been kinda different lately. Since you don't have a Pokemon yet your gonna have to sneak up on one. She explained to him as they arrived. He nodded in agreement as he looked around the area for anything. He could see lily pads on the water and this purplish fog that still seemed to linger in the air. Then he noticed some movement coming from the brush that lined the water. He did his best to stay hidden behind some brush of his own hoping to see a Pokemon jump out so he could try and catch it. Soon he saw the creature and it definitely didn't look like a Pokemon that much was for sure.

The creature was tall and slender with bright glowing red eyes, the lengthy arms had long sharp claws and he could tell that this was probably the same creature that had thrashed the city. Seeing this our Hero decided it would be best to stay hidden and hope that it would move on. As he ducked back down a tig snapped under his foot with a loud snap. The creature turned it's head quickly towards the direction of the sound and started to head in there direction. Misty was frozen with fear as our Hero looked at her he could only wonder what horrible thoughts were running through her mind. As soon as he thought they would be done for, our Hero was about to tell Misty that they better make a run for it. When suddenly a quick small blur of blue flashed across the lake leaping from a lily pad and tackled the creature. The creature was stunned but only for a moment, probably cause it was caught of guard. It did it's best to try and swipe at the blur of blue but whatever it was, it was fast and fled to hide as quickly as it showed up. Now is our chance. he said to Misty. Let's run. She was still frozen. Fortunately the creature was more concerned with whatever just hit it and it ran after the blur of blue that saved them.

Hero grabbed Misty's hand and ran away heading back towards the city. As they run they heard a howling and suddenly it stopped almost in mid howl. Did the Pokemon defeat that thing? He wondered. I didn't quite see what Pokemon it was but I could tell that it was a little thing so I don't think. His thoughts were interrupted by a small blue Pokemon darting out of the brush that lined the path and stopping in front of them with it's arms held out to each side. It was a Froakie, and it seemed like he didn't want them to keep heading towards the city, and for good reason to. Curious they stopped. Misty's eyes finally looked up from the path as she was to scared before to look ahead and figured that Hero would be keeping an eye on things. Seeing the froakie standing there she couldn't help but. Aww isn't it just so cute, are you the little guy that saved us? She sniffles a little bit as she spoke. The froakie nodded as though he understood her words. Then turned his focus to Hero. Looking at him with a certain kind of intensity. Hero felt some kind of warmth as the froakie looked at him. Not to sure what it wanted he just stared back. Misty spoke up again. Hero I think this froakie doesn't want us to go back to the city right now. I think he likes you it hasn't taken it's gaze off of you for awhile now. As she spoke the froakie had leaped towards Hero, grabbed him by the waist scurried up his back sat on his shoulder and looked at hero giving a nod as though he was accepting him.
