Chapter 2: After the Storm, Rain Sound Kingfisher

Char walked toward the direction where the cries of a peculiar-sounding chick were coming from. After covering some distance, Betty and the Star Worm also heard the chick's cries.

The Star Worm showed no particular reaction, but Betty immediately displayed an excited expression.

"That call, it's a Rain Sound Kingfisher! Mr. Char, let's hurry up,"

Instinctively, Betty flew toward the direction of the call but flew back after a short distance.

It wasn't that she feared the Rain Sound Kingfisher would harm her; it was just that after the previous ordeal, she had become much more timid and dared not wander off recklessly anymore.

"Rain Sound Kingfisher?"

"Betty, you can tell what bird it is just by its call?"

Char asked as he continued forward.

"Yes, Mr. Char. Sister Fei Lin has a Rain Sound Kingfisher! The Rain Sound Kingfisher has such a lovely voice, Ira, and the others love listening to it sing,"

Betty chirped in explanation.
