Chapter 13
4 weeks late.
Luis has been back home for three weeks and hadn't heard from Yaus since his motel stay.
( Ashely ) Luis, what happened to Yaus? You've spent the majority of your time with us... I mean, I'm glad we get to see you every day, but what's up with you two?
(Luis) We're still dating, but he had to leave for a while.
( Cha ) - in a hushed tone - I hope he doesn't return. It allows me to devote more time to making you mine.
(Luis) It's getting late. I'd better get back.
(Ashely) Are you guys ready for school? I hope we all have the same class together.
(Ch) I agree.
Next day,
Luis gets out of bed and heads out to meet Ashely and Cha so they can find out their upcoming schedule for school.
(Cha) Luis, we are over here.
(Luis) I'm sorry, I'm late. My alarm didn't go off this morning.
(Ashely) It's okay. We should check out our schedules.
All 3 of them head off to school on their way Luis noticed Sam.
(Luis) You guys, I'll try to catch up with you in a bit. I need to run and do something.
(Ashely), where are you heading?
(Ch) Okay, we will be waiting. Come on, Ashely.
It's time to be brave, Luis. You can do this.
Luis decided to walk over and ask Sam if Yaus had made it back home.
(Luis): Hello, Sam.
( Sam ) What the fuck do you want, loser?
(Luis) I was curious if you had heard from Yaus. Is he back?
(Sam) Why would I tell you anything? I already told you to stay away from him. Did you already forget what I said to you that day?
(Luis) I'm not scared of you.
(Sam) LOL, If he wanted to talk to you, don't you think he would have called you?
(Luis)...
(Sam) See, he doesn't want anything to do with you.
(Luis) That's not true, H. He loves me.
(Sam): LOL, you think a vampire would be happy with a human? He's just using you.
(Luis) No, he's not. I trust him. I trusted that he would never hurt me.
(Sam): Loser, whatever you say, you're just a snack waiting to be devoured...I don't have time to waste on you-Sam walks away.
5 minutes later.
(Ashely and Cha) LUIS,...
(Luis) * She's mistaken; he loves me; she's just jealous.
Luis (Ashely)
(Luis) Hello, Ashely.
(Ch) Are you okay? Didn't you hear us calling your name?
(Ashely), we all have the same class together.
(Luis) I'm looking forward to spending the year with you two.
(Ashely) Cha right, you look a bit down. Are you okay?
(Luis) Yeah, I'm fine. I was just worried we would be separated.
Ashely, Luis, and Cha became more close over time, but he hasn't heard from Yaus in over a year and a half. Since that time, a lot has changed. Luis is now sixteen years old and set to begin his junior year of high school.
Throughout that year, Cha was always there to comfort Luis in his joys and sorrows, hoping that one day he would be able to have Luis as a lover.
Luis has seen Sam several times this year and has asked why Yaus hasn't returned or reached out to him. Sam would never respond to him honestly. But all she did was laugh at him and make him question whether Yaus really did love him. As a result, Luis began to take Sam at his word.
But what Luis didn't realize was that his junior year was about to become a roller coaster.
Junior Year Beginnings
Every day before school, Luis, Ashely, and Cha would meet up before school to get coffee and walk together.
(Ashely) I can't believe we have the same class together again.
In any case, I know I'm looking forward to another fun year.
(Luis) Me too. We should do something to celebrate after school.
As they were walking to school, Luis stopped for a minute.
(Ashely) Hey, why did you stop?
I thought I saw (Luis). You know what? Never mind.
As the school day came to an end, Luis, Ashely, and Cha got together to celebrate.
(Luis) What should we do to celebrate?
(Ashly) I know, I would like you to come over. Cha and I want to tell you something.
(Luis) Okay, but what do you want to tell me?
(Ch) Let's wait till we get there.
After they arrived at Ashely's house, they enjoyed a tasty meal together, laughing and playing games.
A few hours later,
Luis (Cha)
Yes (Luis) Yes?
(Cha) Ashely and I have been wanting to tell you something for a long time, but we needed to feel like we could trust you first.
(Ashely) I don't want you to feel like we don't trust you, but this has been a secret that our family has been keeping for years.
(Luis) You guys are freaking me out. What are you guys getting married to or something?
(Ch) LOL, no we aren't getting married... Plus, I only have eyes for you—with a large smile on his face.
(Luis) Then what is it?
(Ashely), I'd like you to come with us. Luis
Ashely, Cha takes Luis to a secret room that was built into Ashely's bookcase.
(Luis) I'm not sure what's going on, but you scare me. I've never seen this room before.
As they walked down a dark path and came to a stop that put them in a forest in the middle of nowhere,
(Luis) Okay, this is weird. Can you please tell me what's going on?
Ashely, Cha stopped, and when they turned around, Luis was shocked to see that he had fallen on the floor.
(Luis) Y... y... you've got ears.
(Cha) Luis I'm sorry for keeping this from you, but we are Wolfs.
(Luis) WHAT? You guys are wolves. But I thought you guys never knew each other.
(Ashely) We've known each other since we were children, but out in public, we pretended like we didn't.
(Luis) I don't know what to say... I know that my two closest friends are wolves, and that's okay, but what made you feel like you couldn't trust me with this secret?
(Cha) Yaus, that's why he knows about me, but I didn't want him to find out. Ashely was a wolf.
(Luis), so you know what Yaus is.
(Ashely) Yes, he is the king of all vampires, and our kind doesn't get along with them.
(Luis) Why
They betrayed us and our kind... It happened many years ago. We made a pact that their kind wouldn't kill our kind anymore, and one day, their father broke it and killed my father.
(Luis) My head is starting to hurt. I'm glad you decided to trust me with your secret, and I want you to know I will never betray your trust.
(Ashley & Cha) Thank you
After Ashely and Cha told Luis about their deep secret, they ended up calling it a night.
