"Are we all alone?" Alek looked around the kitchen. Her siblings and cousins have gathered here apart from Pollux.
"Yep." Pollux came to the kitchen as he ended the call to his parents. Everyone turned to look at him. "They said it was parents night out, but I can pretty much guess it's a date night like always." His parents went on a date every now and then. It was usually him and his brother who did the chores and helped Iris study.
"Alright." Alek said. She had called her parents before, and they said the same thing. Her parents were mostly busy with work, but sometimes they went on a date.
Alek looked around the table again. "So, it's only us. Do you guys have any requests for supper?" She particularly asked her cousins.
They shook their heads.
"Is anyone hungry?" She asked.
They shook their heads.
"I see." Alek looked down on the kitchen counter. She remembered they had a late lunch. "How about a movie night?" She asked expectantly.
"Sure." Castor answered because he didn't have any other idea than that.
"Great. I'll prepare snacks and drinks while you guys choose the movie." Bia told her cousins and started doing what she said.
"Okay. Let's go Iris." Jin pulled his sister's hand to the living room and started choosing.
"Are you guys okay with horror?" Rin shouted from the living room.
"Yep." Kai answered as he helped Bia. Thank goodness Alek wasn't here to hear what he said. She didn't like horror. On the nights she watched horror movies, she usually slept with someone so that she wouldn't have nightmares.
Bia looked at her brother and, Kai just shrugged his shoulders. She didn't say anything and just placed juice and glasses on the tray and snacks he gave her.
"Have you chosen?" Alek came back from her room after finding a few lamps for the movie. The light of the living room was too bright for a movie, but if turned off, it will be too dark to watch. And her mother would scold her for it if she was watching in the dark.
The lamps she brought was house-shaped and, it took both her hands to hold one.
"Let me help you." Iris came to Alek's side and carried one lamp that was in Alek's arms.
"Thank you. There is actually another one in Kai's room. Would you go get it with him?" Alek asked Iris. Kai looked bored on the sofa and wasn't doing anything.
"Okay." Iris agreed and looked at Kai, who sat up and signalled Iris to follow him.
A minute after, they came back with another same lamp to the living room. Kai was carrying it while Iris walked next to him.
"Hai." Kai handed out the lamp he held to his sister, who was setting the lights next to the TV.
"Thanks." Alek took the lamp and set it up next to the light she had just set up. These lamps created a warm orange night that was enough to light up the room but not entirely.
"Okay we are playing." Rin got away from the TV after putting a DVD which contained the movie.
Alek set up the last lamp and turned it on. She then went to turn off the light in the living room.
The lamps she set up lit up next to the room, giving comfort vibe.
She sat on the floor like always but didn't feel Bia's presence behind her. She usually rested on her legs when watching. But Bia came soon wearing her glasses and, Alek rested on her leg as soon as she sat down.
-----------
They watched five movies in total before Alek went crazy.
The first three were comedy and romance but, when it hit the third movie, Alek became suspicious. It was about a stalker ruining a woman's life because her boyfriend dropped his phone, and the stalker picked it up.
The stalker was also a skilled hacker and, he went through the boyfriend's phone and stalked her until she became mentally ill. He pretended to help her with her stalking problem and, kidnapped her using drugs. He tortured her slowly. Then he revealed himself as a serial killer who had murdered at least ten women with long black hair.
When the stalker said that he was obsessed with long black haired women, Alek instinctively looked at her long wavy-curly hair, even though her hair was brown. She actually considered cutting her hair short like her sister. She even turned off her phone just in case.
The movie continued and the woman was rescued in the end by using the AI in her phone to call her boyfriend for help. The stalker was caught digging a hole for her body in a forest was sent into jail.
When the movie ended, she had goosebumps on her body. "How the heck are you even watching this?" She asked people in the living that seemed to be unbothered by the movie.
"It's a fiction. It was written in the end." Jin replied to his cousin while his brother put another one.
"Okay." She told herself. Maybe she was overreacting.
The next movie was about a girl who got kidnapped with her friend when she went to Paris to follow their favourite band tour in Europe. Her parents were divorced when she was young, and she was taken by her mother but, she saw he father every now and then. Her father was a skilled spy but, now worked as a bodyguard. Her mother had remarried a rich guy.
She and her friend were tricked by a guy who helped her in the airport and was later kidnapped because they told him where they stayed. She was on a call with her father when the kidnappers came and took her friend by force. She watched them take her and looking for her next. She told her father what was happening and followed what her father said, but in the end, she was caught.
Her father, who heard everything quickly came to the apartment in Paris where his daughter and her friend were kidnapped and hunted for people who kidnapped them. It turned out that his daughter and many other girls were turned into sex slaves without their knowledge because they were under drugs.
He didn't find his daughter when he first went to the place he was told when he tortured one of the people who was related to the kidnapping. Instead, he found his daughter's jacket with some random girl around her age. He took away the girl with the jacket from the place with a bloody scene and hospitalised her in a motel until she woke up and told her story.
He left her in the motel with his old friend to look after and searched for his daughter. He eventually found who tricked his daughter and her friend in the airport and killed him in an accident.
His friend, who used to be a spy and now a head of security in Pairs, came when he heard the news of his friend's daughter. He told his friend that if he doesn't find his daughter in ninety-six hours after the kidnapping, he would never find her again.
The head of security then told him that there seemed to be an illegal auction where police and government could not get in because some of the people in it had the power to stop them.
The father went into the auction and found his daughter being sold and bought with his own eyes before he was caught. He escaped from the auction and found his daughter almost r*ped by a fat, rich old dude on a ship. The dude had a knife on her throat but, he killed him before he could slash her throat. She was still partially under drugs but, she was fine physically.
The father and daughter went back home and, the kidnappers were all dead by her father. The head of the security let his old friend go by using his powers to stop the police from looking for the culprit for mass murder.
Alek locked all the windows and doors in the house after watching it. She could no longer trust anything. She even told herself not to talk to strangers at the airport or go overseas without telling her parents where she was going.
When Jin showed her the continuation of the movie, she freaked out. It was much creepier and scarier than the first movie.
"That's it. No more movies." Alek stood up from the floor after watching the trailer. She was certain she was going to have a nightmare. "It's... it's getting late."
"It's ten but okay." Rin told her but shrugged his shoulders. "Iris, go brush your teeth." He told his sister and turned on the light in the living room.
Alek washed the dishes that they used and, Rin and Jin helped her do so while Bia and Kai returned the lamps.
She constantly kept on checking the windows and doors and the existence of her cousins. She was becoming paranoid because of the movies she watched. Then she wondered how they were all unaffected by the movies they watched.
They brushed their teeth after cleaning and went to their rooms to sleep but, Alek couldn't. She had tried reading her favourites, but it didn't work. She eventually went to her bother's room with the sunflower lion in her arms.
"I can't sleep." Alek told her brother, who looked sleepy. After all, it was already midnight and, everyone was asleep.
"Go to Aether's." Kai tried to close the door.
"I can't sleep alone." Alek told Kai.
"You can then sleep with Bia."
"But she is already asleep." Alek told her brother desperately. "Please let me sleep here." Alek pleaded him. She was almost crying.
Kai sighed seeing this and, allowed his sister to sleep in his room.
