Chapter 7

Ariana's POV

I pull my suitcase into my dorm room expecting it to be empty.

But I'm greeted by a sight I've seen so many times before.

My roommate and her girlfriend cuddled up together, they look so sweet. I quietly empty my suitcase then head out for something to eat.

As I'm heading back to the dorms I see Adrian and like the idiot that I am, I made a u turn and scurry back to the direction I was coming from praying he didn't see me.

I stop around the corner listening if he's calling out to me when I don't hear him I let the breath I was holding.

I go back to my car and crank the heater and stayed there until I finished my chipotle.

When I got back to the dorms my roommate nor her girlfriend was in sight, so I decided to get a headstart on this semester's course work.

After a few hours I decide to turn in early since training starts tomorrow. Classes don't officially start until next week but we are on scholarship so we have to get our butts back here before then.

I wake up to the sound of my roommate's alarm while she's snoring the morning away, I shower first before waking her up.

"Hey Nellie, time to get up." I say slapping her cheek. She groans and mumbles something about being on top this time.

God bless her soul.

"Nellie, its time for breakfast." I sing and her eyes snap open.

"It is?" She groans while rubbing sleep from her eyes.

"No its time for practice,and don't you dare go back to sleep." I warn her with a stern look before turning around to get dressed.

She mopes around for a few minutes then head to the shower. If there one thing I love about this college it that each room has it own bathroom.

It might be tiny but it better than sharing with the entire dorm.

"What do you want in your smoothie?" I shout while pulling my hair into a tight ponytail.

"Just strawberry please!" Nellie shouts and I go out to the common area, I smile when I see its empty and quickly slip into the kitchen to make two smoothies.

When I get back to our room Nellie is blow drying her hair. I slip on some socks then push my tiny feet into my nike slides.

Finally, I pull on a grey hoodie and place my drawstring back with my sneakers on my back.

"Ready?" I ask Nellie.

"You know it." She smiles and grabs a hair tie.

Yup, she's the only girl I know who gets ready as quick as a guy. I guess she mastered it since she's always late.

As we step out in to the cold I pull my hoodie over my head.

"I hate the cold." I mumble and Nellie laughs then starts telling me about her skie trip over winter break.

And that when toughts of him flood my mind.

Not now. I need to focus.

"Welcome back!" Sherry shouts then jumps into Nellie's arm,"welcome back Ari." She adds more calmly then hugs me.

"Welcome back." I answer hugging her and waving to two of the guys.

We sit on a small circle and begin to warm up together while everyone trades Christmas except me.

The gym slowly starts to fill up with more of my squad mates, so join while others do their own thing.

"So what about you?" Sherry suprises me by asking.

"Who me?" I ask surprised. Normally I just fade into the background.

"Um yeah." She says and everyone is looking at like I'm about to spread some juicy details.

"Well nothing special happened, I just went ice skating and made two new friends." I say and Nellie gasps.

"You? Made two new friends. Not one but two?" She asks and I nod. "You sure?"

I roll my eyes and her and she jumps up excitedly" guys Ariana made two new friends. " she broadcasts to the squad.

I hear a series of "no way" and gasps accompanied by laughter.

Yep, I'm know as a popular loner. I don't have any friends outside of cheerleading and I also get along with everyone but not particularly close to anyone.

Coach walks in on the excitement and Nellie spreads the news to her and she had the same reaction as everyone.

Well I guess it is a big deal.

Right?
