A voice to die for.

Pawn watched the brawl from the relative safety of the overturned table, observing as the body of the now headless green-eyed demon was forced to skirmish with its former allies.

Due to the element of surprise being on its side, the 'puppet' made quick work of two additional enemies prior to it being disarmed. Disarmed in the literal sense, that is.

Ash quickly moved her gaze to the two which had fallen, reaching one hand towards each of them. They turned on their allies, as well, though only one managed to strike a lethal blow, giving Ash yet another puppet.

"Necromancy?" She inquired hesitantly to Snow, not sounding overly fond of the magic in question.

The demon in question thankfully shook her head in response.

"Puppetry," she corrected.

An odd sloshing sound was heard as something 'juicy' impacted the table.

"Can you do that, as well?" Asked the celestial.

Snow smiled.

"No, puppets are Ash's thing," she replied simply, "my thing is... my voice."

"I see," replied Crystal as she began channelling a small amount of energy into the table itself.

"Greater durability," she muttered, followed by "greater acceleration."

This prompted the table to hurl itself towards the demons at near-incomprehensible speeds, instantly bulldozing the remaining demons out of the dining area and through the neighbouring wall, as well, out of the building itself and onto the street.

"Neat," added the celestial as she stood herself up.

"Is your ability as scary as Ash's?" She inquired as she took Snow by the had and helped her to her feet, as well.

Snow gave her mistress a slightly awkward smile in response.

"It... depends how I use it," She weakly replied.

Ash looked towards the room"s new entrance.

"It seems more enemies are present," she said, "more envy demons."

Indeed, through the hole in the wall, it could be seen that those who had entered the house had merely been a fraction of the group's actual strength. There were at least forty more outside, including the survivors from the fist assault team.

The celestial grimaced, not liking her odds.

Thankfully, at least, they weren't yet attacking.

"Can either of you fly or teleport if the going gets rough?" Pawn asked her two companions, "I don't know how far I can fly carrying the both of you."

Both shook their heads in response.

After giving a brief sigh Pawn stepped forwards from the hole in the side of her mansion retrieving her spear from the ground as she did so. She then addressed the guy who seemed to be in charge. He was both the only one wearing a suit, and the highest-ranked, according to appraisal, at least.

"Hello," she said simply, "any chance we can resolve this matter diplomatically?"

"Start by telling us why you lot are acting so murdery towards me, maybe," she added.

The demon gave a brief glance to his fallen comrades before glaring at her with contempt.

"Kill her!" He shouted angrily in response.

Pawn cursed under her breath before readying her spear.

Unexpectedly, however, the action proved unnecessary.

Someone covered Pawn's ears from behind, Snow spoke... and the battle was simply over.

Pawn watched as all but the leader silently fell to the ground their eyes glazed over, dead.

Snow slowly removed her hands from Pawn's ears and then solemnly approached the leader. She whispered something to him and his eyes went blank as well, though, he still stood.

"...I'm sorry," she said to him a moment later, sounding exhausted, "...to all of you."

Snow then turned to face Pawn, her eyes of the darkest shade of purple Pawn had ever seen, large jagged swaths of dark purple skin surrounded them.

"He will answer any questions you may have," was all she said before collapsing. Ash caught her, and then proceeded to lead her back towards the mansion.

Pawn watched them go, too stunned to speak, so Ash spoke instead.

"She'll be asleep for a day or two, then she'll be fine," she stated, "don't expect her to use this ability too often."

"...Sure," replied the celestial, "I'll, uh, clean up out here, then come do a check up on her, just to be safe."

After Pawn was left alone she quickly surveyed the damage, both collateral and otherwise.

She casually stored all the rubble, bodies, and items in her inventory in a single instant, before then turning to the former leader of the envy demons and asking a simple question.

"Who sent you?" She inquired.

"A woman in black," he replied immediately, without any emotion, "she said to 'kill you slowly'"

"She gave us this," he said, handing over a gigantic bag of celestial silver coins, at least 300 pieces in total.

Pawn furrowed her brow, and then sighed.

"Disguise," she stated, her form changing to that of Lumin.

"Did she look like this," she inquired, pointing to her face, hoping dearly for him to deny her suspicions.

He nodded. She cursed.

"Well... at least I can absorb the celestial energy from the coins if I need to," she celebrated without the slightest bit of joy.

Elsewhere, from atop a distant building, a woman in a hooded black robe watched as Pawn struck down the envy demon with a spear and then stored his body. The woman smiled.

"Little sister, oh how you've grown since last I saw you," she stated with a warm smile, "it feels like it's been a lifetime since then... doesn't it?"

Two pitch-black wings then burst forth from her back.

"Don't be too frugal with that silver, my dear, I'll be sending more soon enough," she stated as she took to the skies, "with the next batch of assassins."

This individual was not the 'Lumin' Pawn had seen a few days prior.
