Expect Fun...and yes, more fun because the male lead won't be your everyday tyrant and the female lead won't be so innocent either... it's a whirlwind romance and there are casualties!) **** Excerpt from the book This man looked like an angel and when he spoke, his baritone voice overpowered the almost empty hallway.. "I am Zuri Zero Williamson, King of Castaway and I am ordering you to take off the mask!" I turned away and I started looking at the paintings on the wall. I lingered on one particular one. A little question tugged at the back of my head and without turning, I asked it. "You must think I am stupid. Of course not, dude…I am not going to take off my mask. It's there to conceal my identity, duh" I rolled my eyes. "Who are you?" He asked me. "Oh goodness gracious! I thought my identity was obvious enough. The mask…the baggy clothes…the nickname…I am a thief! I am here to steal!" He lowered the sword he was holding and made a face. "I am not daft, I know you are a thief. I was asking for your real name, little boy!" He looked annoyed. Wait? Did he just call me a little boy? "I am not a little boy!" I yelled at him.

Chapter 7: Not bad for a brat King

Chapter 7: Not bad for a brat King

Pru POV

The next morning, I was allowed to help the princess dress for the council meeting. The king forcing me to stay in my room was a big mistake because it gave the white knight enough time to hatch a plan. Agent Shoemaker might be a goody two shoes but The white knight was anything but forgiving.

My next item of fascination was the Princess Supreme Tiara and the ceremony happening today was going to give me the opportunity to take it.

The tiara was stored away in the royal vault for my taking.

I helped Emily into a twenty-first century white gown made of the finest furs and silks. The dress had golden threads at the rim with the finest jewelry.

I heard a knock and a tiara was wheeled in by a young girl who left without saying a word to me or Emily.

Damnit!

It was the Tiara I was supposed to steal. How was an honest thief supposed to steal a Tiara that has been handed over to her on a platter literally without arousing suspicion.

I thought that the old hag in the royal vault paid heed to me when I strongly objected to the princess wearing this particular tiara.

"Who's that for?" Emily asked and turned to stare at the magnificent tiara in the glass casing.

It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life.

I opened the casing and stared at it myself.

"You look enchanted" Emily observed.

I mean, who could blame me? I was dumbstruck but not for long.

I watched the Tiara closely. I smiled like I was wooing it.

"According to Google, this is the second most expensive tiara, only superseded by the crown of the Queen of England. It was designed by Gustapha Aliyu with an estimated retail value of $30million in 1992 when the title 'Princess Supreme' was created for the king's sister, Beatrice of Castaway.

This beauty was set in yellow gold and decorated with carat diamonds. The tiara weighs approximately 300g. This, Emily, is the most expensive piece of Jewelry on this side of the world" I told her.

She chuckled "That can't be true, it can't be more expensive than my brother's crown"

"It is" I answered.

"And probably why I was instructed by the mean looking man at the Royal vault to return both you and the tiara in one piece, princess"

She took a step back. I understood her.

Emily didn't grow up a princess. Up until a few days ago, she was an illegitimate child of a single mother in a country no one has heard of before. This was all new for her.

"This is not true. I mean, who in their right mind would entrust little old me with the most expensive tiara in the freaking world?! I once lost my left leg slipper on a walk from my bedroom to the bathroom back in Black silver and I was walking!

I mean, everyone knows I am clumsy. I am Emily Sanders, that should be enough explanation. This is a trap!

I know it! this was a trap created by my brother with the sole aim of making me…. making me...beautiful?" Emily frowned

"Okay, that doesn't make any sense at all but I am determined to put a distance between me and the stupid tiara. I am not exactly the picture of responsibility. Keep that away from me, Pru…thank you very much"

I smiled warmly at the girl. I liked her well enough.

"I am sorry but it's non-negotiable, Emily. It's the house of Lords and your first outing as princess Supreme, it's expected"

"No! I am not going to be the princess that lost her tiara on her first day as princess! Where is King Zuri? I need to have a word with him, ASAP"

She didn't wait for me to answer her when she took off and like a good bodyguard, I grabbed the tiara and shoved it into a bag and I followed her.

By a welcome accident, Emily took the wrong turn on our  way to the king's court and ended up in the garden.

And she froze

We watched as her half brother fought a man twice his size in the garden.

King Zuri's opponent looked like a mercenary…a mean scary ass mercenary.

Zuri had nothing more than a wooden sword with no helmet or body armor. His lean muscular body which I am guessing was as a result of intense physical and mental training swerved as he evaded the sharp sword that was aimed at his heart.

"Ahh!" Emily gasped and covered her mouth.

This looked dangerous….I smiled.

What? Am I supposed to feel sorry for a man who was childish enough to glue my hair and ground me like I am twelve?

Hell no! I was having the time of my life unlike Emily.

Zuri battled the hired eradicator whose sole purpose I am guessing was to maim him in front of the people that were watching - Winston, us and a young man about the king's age that I was going to take in his details later because now, I was too busy hoping the king would lose a tooth or more

Zuri's back clashed into the ground when the mercenary knocked the wooden sword away from him and slammed the hilt of the real sword into his abdomen.

In his bid to escape with his head intact, he tripped and fell on the ground for the second time, still the man did not give him any break.

When the man swirled his sword at him, drawing blood, Zuri's legendary temper took over.

He rolled on the ground and deflected the attacks thrown at him. Soon he was on his feet, squatting like a curious cat waiting patiently for a mouse to make a mistake.

He just needed an opportunity to pounce and watch the light go out of the eradicator's eyes.

The mercenary moved closer with his menacing weapon and Zuri kept both his hands clenched for a fist fight.

He was strong as a bear but this king was intelligent and fast.

The man ran towards him with the sword and Zuri grabbed the hand he held the sword and pulled him forward then he proceeded to slam his elbow into the man's abdomen as hard as he could while twisting his wrist at the same time before disarming him completely.

Not bad for a spoiled brat king!
