Serena leaned closer, her breath warm against Aiden's cheek as their lips hovered a whisper away from each other. She was going to kiss him like she wanted to. The tension crackled between them like an electric charge. Her hands slid to his neck, caressing his jaw, liking the slight bristle of the stubble on his face and she felt his hands on her waist tighten. Even the injured one as if he too wanted her as much as she wanted him.
Aiden could feel his pulse quickening. He'd always been the one to seduce in a relationship, the one to initiate.. but this time, all he could do was anticipate her next move. He could cover the little distance between their lips but he waited. Wanting to see if she would really do it.
And then as he saw her coming closer, his eyes half closed, anticipating the taste of her. Howeverm, just as her lips were about to brush his, the world tilted. Literally. And not figuratively.
