A few days passed and everything came back to normal. Evelyn was busy with council work and so was Elric. Earl used to be gloomy in the initial days but came to his normal version, letting Evelyn go.
"How are you, Earl?" Evelyn asked as she approached the carriage stand, ready to leave for council.
"Perfect as always," he replied.
"That's great. It's sad that we are not getting time to meet each other as we did before," she said in disappointment.
"Work comes first, My Lady," he said with a chuckle. "Let's leave for the council, we will continue the conversation during the journey," he added.
"Alright," she nodded and hopped into the carriage.
The carriage slowly picked up speed and soon they were out in the serene environment of the forest.
"How is Elric?" Earl asked. A few days back, just by hearing his name, hurt him as if someone was scratching over the wound again and again. But now that he accepted, everything was well.
