Chapter 50

Cody' s P.O.V

As I was about to reply to Emily I saw Cabello walking up behind Emily. My blood was boiling now. Especially when he said Emily's name. I saw that her hands were now shaking. She tightened her fist not daring to turn around. I knew what was going to happen next. She was going to slap him. As she turned around to do so, someone caught her fist firmly looking into her eyes. It was an older man who I suppose was Cabello' s dad. 

Emily's P.O.V

Tears escaped my eyes as I saw my father right in front of my eyes again. How dare he?. I looked at my fist in his hand. I dragged my hand from him about to walk off when Zaya stopped me. The girl who I found out was my sister. My dad' s first child. I stepped back beside Cody looking at them. By this time we had caught everyone's attention.

Mrs. Richards

Seems as if everyone is enjoying the party. I noticed that everyone was looking over at Emily and Cody and some other people. The persons who were speaking with them were dressed in jackets like a group of gang members. I hope its not the Black snakes or whatever they call themselves. And why are they hear?. As I got closer I realized that Emily was shouting at them and crying at the same time. She was about to attack the older man when Cody held her back. What in the world?. It was then that my heart started to beat out of my chest. When I saw Emily's father. I held my chest stepping closer. " Everton?", I asked still not believing it. I stepped up to him slowly blinking my eyes a few times. He' s suppose to be dead!. He turned his attention to me frightened. As if he wasn't expecting me to be there. " I can explain.....", he said. He didn't get a chance to finish his sentence as I sent  two slaps across his cheek that echoed in the room. Brianna and Brian stood there watching not believing their eyes. There father was alive. I looked over at Zaya shaking my head. She cut her eyes after me. I turned back my attention to him. " How could you do this to your family Everton!!!", I shouted in his face. " I' m back now and that's all that matter. What I did was for a reason. I had to protect my family Elaine!. It was the only way!.", he shouted. " And you have the heart to come here at Emily's party?. You make me sick Everton. What were you thinking?!", I shouted crying now. " That's why I' m here. To make things right", he commented. I looked at him in disgust. " Please leave", I said calmly not looking at him. " I' m not going anywhere", he said walking over to Emily. " I tried calling you today Emily and you didn't answer. I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday and apologize for doing what I did", he said placing a gift bag on a table beside Emily. Emily didn't dare to look at him. He walked over to where Brian and Brianna were. They stepped back away from him. " Now Everton!", I shouted. He stepped back looking at everyone. " I'll be back", he said before walking out. I cannot believe that just happened. The others followed behind him. " Nice seeing you again Mother", Zaya said stopping by me and walking out. She is another one as well. She left my household when she was 18 to start her own life, or so she said.  And she kept this secret away from us all these years. We were so close. I saw when Emily grabbed one of the liquor s' off the table and stormed into the kitchen. Cody ran after her.
