Chapter 26

" I' m telling you?", i said. He raised his eyebrows at me. " I was somewhere near the bathroom", i said finally. " Was there anyone with you?", he asked. Oh boy. I looked at Missy who was enjoying her ice- cream. I turned my attention back to Cody. I definately can' t lie to him this time. " Rumours are going around that a strange invader came to our church, gang leader or something like that, ", he said. I froze looking at him. Those church people, they just couldn't keep their mouths shut. Cody looked at me confused. I heard when a car started. Rough, strong engine. I knew it was Cabello' s car.  I didn't dare to look. I heard when he drove off. Thank God. I looked at Cody who was still staring at me. " My um....parents invited you to dinner this evening, are you interested?", he asked. It took a while for me to answer. " Sure", i replied. " I ' ll see you then", he said. " Ah yea", i said. He walked off before giving me a kiss on the jaw. I felt like th connection Cody and i had was falling apart. It' s all because of Cabello. I had no time to talk to Cody again, and i juat had to do something about that. Maybe that dinner with his parents will give us a chance to talk more.

I was now home getting ready to have dinner with Cody' s parents. I made sure sure to wear something proper; a peach dress ( sleeveless) with a white high heels ( flat surface). I grabbed my phone and went downstairs. " Where you going?", Matthew asked. " Somewhere, tell mom and dad i'll be back by 9", i said walking out of the house. I made my way in dad' s car and drove off to Cody' s house. Dad' s gonna kill me, again.

"You look great", Cody said greeting me and smiling. " you too", i said fixing his tie and kissing him at the side of his lips. He looked at me smilinh; really hard. He cleared his throat. " You missed", he said walking up to me. I looked at him." Are you that hungry to kiss me?", i asked smiling. He walked u closer to me, grabbing me by the waist and bringing me closer to his body. I was so blushing. I smiled at him placing my hands around his neck. " Yes, i' m that hungry to kiss you", he said coming closer to my lips. I smiled at him. He was about to kiss me when i stopped him with my finger. " Save the kiss for later, Cody", i said smiling. He smiled at me. " Remember why i' m here?, to have dinner with your parents", i said passing him. " Mr and Mrs.Haylett!", i shouted. " They' ll be down soon", Cody said walking up to me. I turned around looking at him. " " Are you sure they' re here, the house sounds so quiet", i said. " There they are", Cody said. I looked behind me and saw Mr and Mrs. Haylett. " Emily darling , you look beautiful", Mrs. Haylett said hugging me. " Well, thank you", i said smiling. " You look beautiful yourself too", i added. She broke the hug smiling. " Thank you", she said. Mr. Haylett greeted me smiling. " well, shall we start dinner?", Mrs. Haylett asked. " Yes, that' s the part i' ve been longing to here", Cody said smiling. I laughed at him, then his parents followed.
