"... What else is there?" Jash asked, calming his anger slightly in order to refocus himself.

Bil motioned toward the six glasses and pushed forward the most diluted one. "Think about the juice. Technically, each glass has more juice than it did before. The color isn't much different from before, only slightly lighter. But how's the taste? Go on. Give it a taste."

Already knowing what to expect, Jash complied and took a sip. "Bleh. It tastes horrible."

"Exactly. It's neither natural nor completely unnatural. It's a concoction that would cripple anyone trying to train their veita. It sacrifices the lives of followers to increase the fame and power of the deity." Chortling sarcastically, Bil shook his head, "But since it leaves the survivors feeling better and with more energy than ever, it was welcomed into the world with open arms. Those that died were framed as weak sinners without proper devotion, as if they would've eventually committed treason to the deity.
