Jash's Realization

Together, the party feasted on the delicacy that was the Emperor Scorpion, saving the Queen Scorpion's meat for another day. Those of age had a few drinks but were all cut off early by Bil before anyone could get hammered. The celebration was short-lived compared to anything possible outside of a ruin, but it was more than enough to keep that party's morale at an all-time high.

As the celebration winded down and many people started getting ready for bed, some people still straggled around the fire.

"... Bil…"

"What's up, kid?" Bil smiled warmly at his son, waiting for Jash to say more. When Jash stayed quiet and kept hesitating to speak up, Bil threw up a silent seal for the two of them. "... What's up, Jash?"

"... Did I make a mistake doing what I did?"

"Ah… I don't think 'mistake' is the right word."

Jash sighed, "Then how would you describe it? I was just doing what I thought was best."
