I Met Him Before He Was The Conqueror

Ayjen didn't say a word. His mind was stuck in the mud of indecision.

Though Ayjen hadn't been adopted by the Lightning Chateau like Orsen, Ayjen had been there for more of his life. Ayjen was used to strolling the many halls of the castle, visiting the exterior buildings for field classes, and attending the lectures with notes kept in his chateau-gifted vector ring, given to each core disciple. That ring was tangible proof that showed who was a core disciple and who wasn't. It was also a gift to be kept by all graduates from the program.

Ayjen stared at the ring on his hand. "... But why would I do that? What can that new master offer me?"

Shrugging, Dedric laughed loudly, "I have no idea! But I also have no idea as to why you asked Jash to spar with you if you've abandoned using weapons."

Seeing Ayjen's eyes flinch at that comment, Dedric continued, "What are you trying to get out of Lightning Chateau, kid? Are you getting what you want from them?"
