Everything Is Fire

"Out of the way!"

A gruff voice called out, getting every roughneck around to instantly open a path.

The blind man tried to peer through his headwrap at the incoming people. "Oh… He's a st-trong one!"

Still laughing, the commander from earlier stepped to the side but didn't join the crowd of soldiers.

Warjan took his time walking up to the blind drunk. When he passed the awaiting commander, Warjan gave him a nod.

Behind Warjan, all eight commanders formed a row. Four commanders stood on each of Warjan's sides, directing every morsel of available attention toward Warjan, and all secondary attention to the commanders by default.

Warjan stopped directly in front of the blind drunkard, nearly touching chest to chest with the man.

… Smack… smack…

In response, the blind man smacked his lips together to clean them of alcohol. Then, the blind man tried to drink from the empty bottle before cleaning his lips one last time.
