Do You Get What I'm Trying to Say?

Keeping up her soft smile, Nelphy asked, "How did you contact the city guard without anyone knowing?"

"Ohhh… You're diving right in, aren't you?" Zac chuckled while thinking about his response. "It's something only certain mercenaries are allowed to know. So, you'd need to join the guild and rank up before I can tell you."

"Boo…" groaned Nelphy, hardly accepting the answer.

"Alright, my turn." Zac took a moment to think, acting like he was brewing up a crazy difficult question. "... How old are you?"

"That's it? I'm eighteen," Nelphy scoffed.

"Phew…" sighed Zac.

Irked, Nelphy teased, "What's wrong? You got a problem with that?"

"No. But I would've had a problem if I was on a date with a minor," Zac retorted, getting an understanding nod out of Nelphy. "And, since I'm a nice guy, I won't count that last question of yours."

Nelphy chuckled again. "Thank you, I guess. Anyway… Why was it the captain of the guard that showed up, and why does she know you so well?"
