Fairune!

The new VRMMORPG Fairune! was lauded as the next best game to hit the shelves, it would be a kind of second world for people. It was pushed as a world without limits, where you could be whoever you wanted. Liam is about to embark on his own adventure in the new world, fighting monsters and finishing quests all with the hope of being the greatest swordsman in the game. Follow Liam as he grows from a novice VRMMORPG player to someone renowned throughout the world. This is my first time writing anything so it will probably be poor at first but I will try to improve as I write the chapters. Enjoy

Tough Fight (2)

Liam swung his sword at the greatsword wielding skeleton first and causing his first set of damage since they were spawned in. He immediately followed up with a second before he had to back out as a shield was coming towards him from the left. As Liam avoided the shield base an arrow just grazed past him at the same moment leaving a cold sweat go down his back, he had missed that attack coming entirely.

Liam renewed his conviction to get rid of the archer first as that was currently his worst enemy but getting past the two melee skeletons is proving difficult.

'I have to find an opening or make one myself' Liam thought as he looked at the battlefield in front of him.

The necromancer was safe behind a barrier not doing much but watching, whereas the guard skeleton was to his left side with the greatsword skeleton to his right with barely a gap to push through to get at the annoying archer sniping him from the back.

Since he decided to make an opening of his own he would need to time his attacks well. With that in mind Liam strafed to the right to give the archer a clearer sight of him. While he did this the greatsword skeleton began a downward swing, the guard skeleton was piercing it's sword towards him, and the expected arrow had also just arrived.

All this happened within seconds and Liam only has a moment to drop and roll to the right again to avoid all the attacks at once, this move put him with both melee skeletons to his left. Taking advantage of his position Liam shot of towards the archer as fast as he could, and once in range he used <Charge>.

A clean hit!

Liam then proceed to hit the skeleton some more with his basic attacks, he knew he only had a few seconds before the other two catch up. He had to make the most of the time he bought himself.

After managing 4 extra hits doing nearly an extra 300 damage the cavalry arrived.

'Damn it' Liam watch as the new arrivals swung their blades towards him making it difficult to get any more hits on the archer.

Liam watched as the archer backed off from him while he avoided behind sliced and frowned. Thankfully the monster aren't too intelligent as once the cool down of charge came off he use the same strategy again to hurt the archer more.

'Doesn't seem like they use skills.' Liam found it wierd that after two successfully charges at the archer that it didn't use a single escape move, this was especially so considering all three are elite level monsters so that should have a few tricks up their sleeve.

The thought didn't dwell for long though as Liam though to take advantage of this fact to take out the archer and take advantage he did. After 2 more successes with his strategy he was left with just the two melee skeletons.

'Finally took that damn archer out.'

Liam eyed the two incoming skeletons as he caught his breath for a second before jumping back and avoiding both attacks coming from them.

Liam decided to target the greatsword skeleton next now that the annoyance was gone. The fight proceeded smoothly, Liam continued to dodge and roll out of any attacks coming his way and after one minute he managed to bring down the second skeleton.

Even after seeing it's minions getting taken out the necromancer still did nothing making it clear to Liam that he would only fight it after taking down the last skeleton. Problem was that seemed easy said than done. The guard skeleton was managing to guard most of his attacks with its shield.

Liam had just dodged a forward thrust from the skeleton but realised it was to the wrong side so withheld his attack. He was getting a little tired, all this concentration was starting to take it's toll.

While a player can't get physically tired in the game that doesn't mean that you can't get mentally drained, and prolonged fight can drain your mental energy very quickly.

There was however no rest for the weary in this case, so Liam continued to dodge and avoid the guard skeleton but slowed his pace down to recover slightly as he still had the main monster to fight.

Even with the slower pace Liam finally killed the final skeleton in about 4 minutes, but had no time to rest as a loud screech was heard coming from the necromancer.

Liam turned towards the main monster of the room and could see the barrier around the necromancer slowly fading away along with the loud screech.

It was time to fight the necromancer again.
