The Seed That Returns [2]

Inside his body, changes were happening on a scale Rain couldn't possibly comprehend.

He lay unconscious on the cold ground, oblivious to the healing that was taking place. His once torn skin was now gradually knitting itself back together.

The wounds, deep and bloody just moments ago, were now closing, the scabs falling away, revealing fresh, untouched skin beneath.

Rain's mind was adrift in darkness. He couldn't recall how long he'd been out or even what had happened in the moments before.

Slowly, his consciousness began to stir. His eyelids twitched, and his senses sharpened as the fog in his mind started to lift.

With a soft groan, he opened his eyes, the world still a blur. His vision, though slightly fuzzy, was sharp enough to detect something strange.
