Exodia: Last Encore

(This is the re-uploaded version. I'll do daily uploads here.) (Disclaimer: There are swear words.) A century ago, the world was blessed with special abilities which came from sources in seven spots all across the world, in different continents. Not only this, a new species of monsters came along with the special abilities. The species which hate humanity and want to wipe them off the face of the Earth; Imperi. This entire event was called the Grand Impact. Those blessed with special abilities and superhuman physique were called Streia and those who were Streia and swore to protect people for a profession were called Magi. 8 years ago, East Asia was affected by yet another impact. This one mainly destroyed Tokyo and a few other places in East Asia. This was caused by an entity given the codename of Alpha. Thanks to one Magia, Alpha was stopped and vanished, never to be seen after that day. On that day, Kazuya Shiba's mother was killed. He swore to take revenge on Alpha and attended Interblade Academy as, now, a second-year. At Interblade Academy, his friends stand out more than he does as they are Silver ranked. Meanwhile, Kazuya is... Porcelain ranked?! Even being Porcelain ranked, that does not stop him from killing Imperi and defeating enemies. Will Kazuya be able to achieve his revenge or die trying? (I do not own the cover.)

Encore 78 — The Fake Nobles (V)

That's not a good sign. She's talking about the Godslayer, the very thing that we're going after. This means that the Godslayer is Ylna's goal.

Moreover, she's telling them all about it. Does she have it? That's what we need to know.

"The Godslayer is a weapon that can be used to kill gods. You would think that a weapon like this would be famous, but, they hid it along with the body of a man who killed gods. That man is dead but the weapon still exists."

Ylna appealed to the nobles. Each of them began to progressively pay attention to her words. There were a few who didn't, like the Goldengates.

"With this weapon, we can put an end to the gods."

·———·

After the 30-minute talk and persuasion, most of the nobles were swayed in favour of Saito Eiji and his companions.

After that was a break where nobles would be able to discuss their thoughts and eat. In that time, Rentaro Otsuka, Fan and Myraliana approached Saito Eiji's room.

The three of them stood in front of the door. Myraliana flicked her head toward the man. He smiled as he combed his chin with his hand. The bodyguard grimaced.

"What the fuck are we doing here?"

She asked. She didn't think that visiting the enemy was of much use. Giving a warning would be the last thing they would want to do.

"We're greeting them."

"Gree... Fuu..."

Myraliana exhaled before she started growling. She calmed herself down.

"Are we going to engage in battle?"

"Most likely not."

"Tch!"

She fiercely clicked her tongue.

"I thought you didn't want any trouble..."

Rentaro didn't understand his bodyguard. He didn't need to, but it worried him, still.

He knocked on the door. Without an answer, the door opened a few seconds later. The old man opened the door. He didn't look surprised.

"Welcome, Rentaro Otsuka. I've been wanting to talk to you, please come in."

Myraliana and Fan exchanged looks. This invitation was too suspicious. It should've been obvious to Rentaro as well, however...

"Thank you."

He bore a smile and entered. Reluctantly, the two women followed behind him. As they entered the room, the only other person in there was the man who was with Ylna when she went on stage with Saito Eiji.

Myraliana glared at Tvar. From the outset, she knew that he was trouble.

"Please sit down,"

Saito Eiji sat down himself. Rentaro sat down on the sofa opposite—Fan and Myraliana stood behind him. Myraliana kept her eye on Tvar. The tall man yawned like he was unaware of Myraliana's watchful eye.

"So, what have you been wanting to talk about, Mr Eiji?"

Rentaro asked with a smile.

"Well, it's simple really. I've taken 30% of your assets. I want all of them."

The silence that followed lingered for a short while. Rentaro leaned back on his chair, facing the ceiling. He took a deep breath before breathing out in disappointment.

"I don't think you understood what I said last time, Saito Eiji."

As Rentaro began to talk, Myraliana opened the palm of her hand discreetly. She noticed a slight change in behaviour from Tvar.

"You hid those two cute blue children from me, of course, I would want all of your assets. Still, who would've thought you would make a profit from phones."

He chuckled.

"I'm fed up with this."

The young man mumbled.

"Do you know why I came today, Mr Eiji?"

"No,"

"I came to kill you."

Tvar leapt from behind Saito Eiji. He primed his fist and launched it at Rentaro.

"Ascalon; Refine!"

Myraliana zipped her red blade at him—Tvar blocked it with his hand. She swept his legs and drew back her sword, pointing it at him. The blade became grey.

"Ascalon; Pierce."

Ascalon burst toward Tvar, piercing his gut. He was blown out of that room violently, rolling and tossing into the next.

Despite the name of the ability, Pierce was a special ability that utilised blunt force rather than the sharpness of the tip of the blade.

"Unreal..."

"Magnificent."

Myraliana heard Rentaro's awe and Saito Eiji's fascination. She cocked her head.

"Oi, old man."

"Hm?"

"If I beat down this stupid giant, you'll tell me the location of the Godslayer, right?"

"Perhaps."

The woman wasn't satisfied with his vague answer. She left it and brandished Ascalon.

"Rentaro, Fan, make sure he doesn't leave this room. If he does, kill him, I know he's not that special despite what the news says about him."

She advised them.

The woman skipped into the next room. Tvar picked himself up and stretched his arm. He was bleeding at the mouth but that was it. He didn't sustain any other injuries. A Pierce of that power would be enough to send any other Streia to the hospital if unguarded.

(This means one of two things. One, he guarded that. If he did, that's probably worse for me. That means his base durability is exponentially high. Or, it means two, his Singularity is one that increased his durability.)

"You really put a number on me with a thrust. You're strong."

Tvar spoke to Myraliana while cracking his neck.

(If his Singularity IS something that increases his durability, then it should be fine. Singularities like that have a weakness for their effective use.)

She dashed toward him, flicking her sword at his head. Tvar punched it, pushing it back, leaving her open.

"Shit...!"

(It's the first one!)

With a huge windup, Tvar punched Myraliana's waist with full power.

"Hmmrhh...!"

CRACK!

She held in a scream of pain while glueing her feet to the ground. She skid across the room towards the door.

"Wow,"

Tvar sounded sarcastically.

"You blocked that."

Myraliana attempted to stand upright while pointing Ascalon at him. Her left arm was broken. She had quickly put it in the way of his punch. If she hadn't done that, she may have been split into two by raw force.

It was only now that she realised that she was in a bad situation.

(Fuck... I was thinking that he had one of the two but he has both. Good base durability and a Singularity that increases it!)

The man's right hand was coated with black plates of armour which were not there before. Tvar frowned.

"Let's get this over with. I don't like to play with my food, unlike that girl."

"Make sure you savour every bite."

Myraliana quipped.
