The closer they got to the mountain, the more it became clearer that it was indeed an outpost. Trees had been cleared several feet close to it, leaving the land open to anyone trying to sneak in.
Three massive wooden lookout towers stood at the edge with men carrying crossbows and patrolling.
"Why haven't they shoot us?" Valor asked. They were walking now, each step taking them closer to the mountain.
"I don't know you are in the habit of shooting those who come to your castle for visits. Do you think they raid Hunters for fun? People pay them to get jobs done sometimes." Kieran said.
"Assassination," Belialthorn said.
"That and sometimes a team might want to screw another team and rob them. Or you want something stolen." Kieran said.
They passed between the wooden towers and the men kept them in their shooting line. Belialthorn studied them and he smiled.
