Shockwave slammed into Belialthorn's shield and he groaned as his mana drained fast but the shield had done its work so he let it go.
"How are you able to shield against this?" Alaric looked around in astonishment. Dust filled the corridor but that wasn't what he was talking about, the ground and the stone wall was sliced open in wide slashes. "This is spatial arcane. A very powerful one."
Belialthorn grimaced. "I have depleted my mama."
Alaric studied him and nodded. "We all have secrets I guess because even Eleanor couldn't shield against it the explosion."
"Good for her," Rota said as they all looked at the woman.
Eleanor was now nothing but flesh twisted with metal, covered in so much blood they couldn't see what was underneath the red.
Alaric looked away, his eyes stinging. As much as he pretended it didn't, Belialthorn knew the betrayal had bit deep.
