Ash led them through the slums, just as he did for Rota the last time. They didn't speak among themselves, they let their feet do the talking and before long they reached the street where the real power of the slum lay.
But surprisingly enough for Rota, it was dry tonight. The street that was bustling the last time she was here was as silent and cold as the stone they were stepping on.
And yet. Eyes, lots of eyes. Followed them.
"Why is it so silent tonight, Ash? Something happens?"
Ash shrugged. "The Lilly wants everyone to stay clear tonight."
"Do you know why?" She asked.
"Something about an important visitor. Not you though." He added quickly and laughed. "But you're also an important client of mine."
Rota frowned in her hood. She was sure she knew the reason Lilly cleared the street but what she didn't understand was why? Why do that?
