The Farm - Part 1

I turned around and walked towards the Haven shop.

I looked for anything that could possibly boost experience gain. I didn't think the experience potion stacked with itself so I decided to try as many different things as possible

-

[Experience Belt (5kg)] (x10) - 15 Vampire Tokens

{When worn, the user gains double experience after defeating an enemy.}

~

[Stackable Experience Potion] (x1) - 1 Vampire Token

{Increases experience gained by 15% for five hours, the user can use more than one at once.}

~

[Experience Grinder] - 2 Vampire tokens

{Gain 40% more experience from Haven Mission Completion for 10 hours.}

~

[Focus Sachet] (x2) - 2 Vampire Tokens

{Increase concentration and focus, also +50% experience gain for ten minutes.}

~

[Double Experience Potion] - 2 Vampire Tokens

{Double all experience gained in Haven for one hour.}

~

[Damage Converter Effect] - 1 Vampire Token

{For thirty minutes, every time you deal a major amount of damage to an enemy, gain 200 experience.}

-

Those were all of the items which increased experience gain by some amount. I had 19 Vampire Tokens so there were quite a few things I could buy. I was going to invest in everything which earned me more experience and after killing enemies for a little longer, I might be able to level up.

I bought a Double Experience Potion, a Damage Converter Effect, a Focus Sachet and Experience Grinder and 12 stackable experience potions. Granted it wasn't the best value but I wanted to do as much as I could before the first match tomorrow. After consuming all of the items my total experience boost went up to around +470%. Now all I needed to do was kill the Skeleton Guard a few times.

I took a deep breath and accepted the mission to kill the Skeleton Guard.

A cloud of gas formed as usual, producing a smoky grey splotch in the middle of the clean, well-kept grass. After a few seconds, a Skeleton Guard appeared as expected.

I quickly charged in and summoned [Blood Blade}, I needed to chip away at its neck as I did the last few times I fought it. I dodged a few of its swings before I swung at its neck like usual, as soon as I connected with the hard, brittle bone, I managed to earn some experience from my [Damage Converter Effect].

[+400 experience]

It seemed that the double experience potion increased its gain but none of the other items had any effect. I continued fighting the Skeleton Guard, dodging its attacks and cutting away at its neck, gaining experience every time I managed to get a decent hit in. I initially thought that I had no chance of levelling up before my first fight, but at this rate, I was going to make it.

Not long after, I managed to kill the Skeleton Guard. As its corpse disintegrated into the dirt, I checked my mission menu.

Wow, that was a lot of experience, I also managed to earn about 1600 experience from the Damage Converter Effect. I had a look at my experience menu.

I was more than half way through, to keep up the momentum, I decided to summon the Skeleton Guard once again and face it.

From all the times I've fought it, I've already learned all of its attack patterns so it was quite easy to keep defeating it. Moving my body around, I dodged all of its attacks and continued to cut away its neck bone with my [Blood Blade].

Before long, it was on the ground once again, disintegrating.

Alright, just one more time and I'll have enough to level up.

I summoned it again and quickly moved in to attack it. I completely overwhelmed the bone creature and smashed it without any struggle. My crimson blade bounced off the white bone on its neck, chipping away at it like paint on a wall. After less than five minutes, it was defeated, disappearing for good.

There weren't a lot of rewards from this level up although [The Farm] seemed to be quite a major unlock. As soon as I closed the menu, I heard a loud rumbling noise coming from my right. I looked over and saw a huge barn appearing in the middle of the grassy plains. Beside the barn was a very large animal pen with something labelled 'animal spawner'.

I slowly walked over and observed it closer. I walked into the barn and I was greeted by a chute that had a sign above it.

{Drop loot into here to sell.}

Loot? I walked out the back door of the barn and into the pens with animals in them. The main pen included a very large amount of pigs who were passive and didn't attack me as I entered. There was a spawner in the middle of the pen which seemed to be inactive, I assumed it might have been because the pen was already full.

I summoned [Blood Blade] and killed one of the pigs. As I killed it, I was notified for earning some experience.

[+340 experience (Boosted)]

Oh yeah, I forgot I still had my experience boosts on. This appeared to be very easy experience, the animals didn't fight back and I could could keep on killing them for as long as I wanted and they would simple spawn back.

Beside the pen, there was a sheet of paper with the word 'contract' written above it.
