First day of school

Getting ready for her first day of school, Rihanna looked at back at the previous years and smiled to her heart's content. She remembered all her fun times with her best friends and also the bad times.

Thinking about that, she remembered when she had an argument with one of her best friends, Brian who she had had a huge crush on during elementary school.

***Two years earlier***

Earlier that day, Rihanna took on the determination to tell Brian that she had a crush on him, but what she had expected his reply to be was totally the opposite.

"Brian, I have something to tell you", she said as they walked to their locker.

"Yeah, what's up?", he asked.

"Uhm, I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now but I didn't have the courage", she said while looking at her shoes.

"You know you can tell me anything, right?", he said.

"Yeah I know, Brian for a while now I've had a crush on you and I didn't want to say anything not only because of I didn't have the courage but because I didn't want anything to ruin or friendship", she confessed sincerely.

Brian was indeed happy in his heart but he didn't want to get her hopes up, he also had something big to tell her but he knew it will break her.

"I'm sorry, Rihanna", he said and slowly walked away. He didn't bother going to class but went straight home since he's driver was already waiting for him.

Rihanna looked very confused and broken but she felt he was just having a bad day

The next day, with hope of getting a proper answer from Brian, Rihanna walked to her locker but he wasn't there.

"Stacey, have you by any chance seen Brian this morning?", she asked.

"Brian didn't tell you?", Stacey asked.

"Tell me what exactly?" Rihanna asked.

"He moved to another country yesterday that's, why he left school early yesterday", Stacey informed her.

"Another country?", Rihanna exclaimed in shock.

***Present***

She wiped her tears which had fallen. "I can't really deny that I still have feelings for Brian", she thought to herself.

"Hey, are you ready?", her older brother, Jack asked when he walked into her room.

"Yeah, I'll be down with you shortly", she said with a half smile. He nodded at her walked back downstairs.

She came down a few minutes later and had lunch with her family.

When she was done she cleared her plates, the said her goodbye, "Good bye mom, bye dad".

"Bye sweetie and have a good day kids" they responded simultaneously.

Jack and Rihanna walked down to Jack's car and got in. Jack noticed that Rihanna wasn't as cheerful as she usually was.

"Are you still sad about Brian leaving?" he asked.

"What, me? No, I'm over him already" she lied.

"Your mouth says so but not your heart" he said making her shocked.

"You're right, Jack. He didn't tell me he was leaving" she sniffed as she said it.

"I understand but for yourself try to forget about him" he said.

"I know, let's get going to school" she said as she buckled her seat belt.

Jack sighed as he started the engine and drove off to school.

When they arrived at school, there was a lot of commotion. They met with Stacey at the parking lot.

"Hey Stacey, what's going on?", Jack asked her.

"I'm not sure but I heard some new kids transferred here, they seem to be in same class as you Jack" Stacey informed.

"They must really be popular, let's get going I don't have any interest in this" Rihanna said then walked into the building to her locker with Stacey and Jack following behind.

"I have music class first, I'll get going" Rihanna said after she took her books from her locker.

"Catch you later Anna" Both Jack and Stacey said at the same time, then they looked at each other.

Anna walked to the music room and sat down on her usual sit while waiting for the class to commence.

Few minutes later, Mrs. Gabriel entered into the class with a few kids following behind her. Once Rihanna saw this,she looked back at her book.

"Attention please, we have some new students joining us today. I'll let them introduce themselves" Mrs. Gabriel said as she stepped aside.

"Hello guys, I'm Carl Lopez by name. I love music and I'm a bass guitar player and also a rapper. I'm also in a band with them. I'm glad to be here", Carl introduced himself. Some sitted students wowed while some looked at him in a flirtatious way.

"Hi, I'm Martins Johnson. I'm a singer and I play the drums. it's nice toeet you guys" he said.and got the same reaction Carl got.

The last and most handsome of them all, Brian. "Hey, I'm Brian, Brian Walker precisely. I play the guitar, I'm a singer and I am happy to be here" he said.

Rihanna who had been looking at her book all this while finally looked up, immediately she did that, her eyes and Brian's met.

Brian remembered the face very well, he looked at her with shock and immediately looked away.

"What's he doing here?" Anna asked herself.
