Burn Phone

Demyan

"Is she alright?" Ethan's morning voice floated through the speaker of my phone which I held to my ear. I had volunteered to take Yakov for a walk. Bunbun had completely rejected the idea and instead snuggled close to the fireplace with Dad and Pa in one of the living rooms.

I had decided to call Ethan because I had missed him. Yet I had not noticed it was four in the morning on his side but he talked to me anyway even though he was half asleep.

"She's going to be," I smiled, "The Prince would never hurt her. He adores her."

"Just like how I adore you," he chuckled, his voice still raspy with sleep.

A shiver ran down my spine. I wished I very much would have rather had this conversation snuggled to his side. "No one adores anyone the way you adore me. You're one in a kind."
