7. CONFESSION

As the hour of Amy's lecture drew to a close, Billy found himself unable to focus on the academic material. Instead, his attention was captivated by Amy Anderson, his eyes tracing her every movement with a mix of fascination and curiosity.

Beside him, Austin couldn't help but notice Billy's distraction throughout the lecture. A sense of unease settled over him, particularly after Billy's unexpected outburst earlier.

"Alright, class, that's it for today's lecture. See you all tomorrow!" Amy's voice cut through the air, signaling the end of the session.

As the students began to disperse, Amy collected her belongings and headed towards the exit, a stream of students trailing behind her.

Austin turned to Billy, intending to inquire about his peculiar behavior, but before he could speak, Billy rose abruptly from his seat.

"I'm heading out, guys," Billy announced urgently, his tone betraying a sense of urgency as he made a beeline for the exit.

"Hey, wait up! We'll come with you," Austin called after him, perplexed by Billy's sudden departure. Evelyn, catching wind of Billy's haste, watched with a quizzical expression, prepared to follow suit.

Their conversation, however, was abruptly interrupted by Annie's frantic plea for assistance.

"Guys!" Annie's voice pierced through the chatter, drawing their attention. They turned to see Annie scanning the area desperately.

"I lost my favorite pen, please help me find it," Annie implored, her eyes scanning the ground in search of her prized possession.

With reluctance, Evelyn and Austin reluctantly joined Annie in her search for the missing pen, momentarily setting aside their concerns about Billy's sudden exit.

Meanwhile, in the bustling hallway of Arora University, Amy made her way towards the staff room, her mind occupied with the day's tasks.

"Amy, ma'am!" a voice called out, causing her to pause and glance back to see who it was.

To her surprise, she saw Billy rushing towards her, his breaths labored from the exertion. His sudden appearance caught her off guard.

"You're the one who interrupted my introduction earlier, right?" she asked, recognizing him amidst the throng of students.

"Yes," Billy confirmed, his breaths coming in short gasps. "Ma'am, do you remember me?" he inquired hopefully.

Amy furrowed her brows in concentration. "No, I'm afraid I can't recall. Have we met before?" she queried, her memory failing her momentarily.

"Eighteen months ago, in the capital city. You saved me from death that day," Billy recounted, a grateful smile tugging at his lips.

Amy's eyes widened in realization as the memory flooded back to her. "Ah, yes, I remember now! I saved a kid on that snowy day and administered a transfusion," she reminisced with a warm smile.

"Your name is…" she trailed off, trying to remember.

"Billy Scott," he supplied.

"That's right, Billy Scott. I'm glad you're doing well now! I couldn't stay until you woke up because I had work to attend to," she explained.

"Ma'am, you have no idea how much I searched for you after that," Billy said earnestly, his smile widening.

"Why? To thank me? It's just basic human nature to help," Amy replied, feeling a sense of pride.

"Ma'am, I love you," Billy declared suddenly, his innocent expression belying the weight of his words.

Amy was taken aback by his confession, her mind reeling in the midst of the crowded hallway. She glanced around nervously, hoping no one had heard what he said amidst the noise of the passing students.

"Sorry, did you say something?" she asked, hoping she had misheard him.

"Amy, ma'am, I love you," Billy repeated loudly, his innocent declaration cutting through the noise and drawing the attention of everyone around them.

Amy froze, her face flushing red with embarrassment as she processed what had just transpired. She looked around at the shocked faces of the students who had paused to witness the scene unfolding before them.

Without another word, Amy raised her hand and delivered a resounding slap across Billy's cheek, the sound echoing loudly in the hallway.

As Billy rubbed his cheek in pain, Austin emerged from the crowd and swiftly approached him, grabbing him by the back of his collar.

"What the hell are you doing, idiot?" Austin shouted, his frustration evident as he looked at Billy. He then turned to Amy, offering a sincere apology for his brother's behavior.

"I'm sorry for my brother's behavior, ma'am. He's just a hopeless idiot," Austin apologized, bowing his head respectfully.

"Let's go," Austin said firmly, dragging Billy away as Amy turned to leave.

But Billy couldn't resist calling out to her once more. "Amy, ma'am," he called out, causing her to turn back.

"It's destiny that we meet again, and I won't lose this time. I feel like there are strings attached to our lives. I love you, ma'am," he declared boldly with a warm innocent look, his words causing Amy's face to flush red once more as she quickly walked away.

"Shut up, you idiot," Austin shouted at Billy in frustration, delivering a punch to his head before dragging him away.

"Ouch," Billy winced, rubbing his head. "Why is everyone assaulting me?" he muttered to himself.

In their apartment, after classes had ended, Billy and Austin returned, each carrying the weight of the day in their own way.

"It's still throbbing like crazy," Billy grumbled, his hand tenderly massaging his cheek as he reached for an ice pack from the fridge. Meanwhile, Austin stood at the entrance, his demeanor tense and frustrated.

"What's going on?" Billy asked, noticing Austin's agitation.

"You have any idea of the mess you caused today?" Austin's voice was strained as he clenched his fists, his frustration palpable.

Realization dawned on Billy, his heart sinking as he understood the gravity of the situation. "Oh no," he muttered under his breath, knowing there was no easy way out of this.

With swift movement, Austin pinned Billy to the floor, his grip firm and unyielding as he twisted Billy's arm, eliciting a pained cry from him. "Damn, that hurts!" Billy exclaimed, his free hand slapping against the ground in a plea for mercy.

"Do you realize the trouble we're in if word gets back home about what happened?" Austin's voice was laced with exasperation as he continued to hold Billy down.

"Mom and sister will tear me apart because of you," Austin's frustration boiled over, his grip tightening on Billy's arm.

"Please, I surrender, just let me go," Billy pleaded, the pain evident in his voice as he begged for release.

Relenting, Austin released his grip on Billy, allowing him to sit up and nurse his throbbing arm.

I released only one chapter today because I couldn't write much today (laziness). I will update 3 of the chapters tommorow. (hoping)
