Chapter 6: The Birthday party and the father's gift

Allen spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the system store and its various items. He basically came to a conclusion that even a pig would become the Divine pig after having such a system let alone a human.

The only thing he had to do is to work hard and earn energy. As a test, he picked a piece of chalk from the classroom and took it into his inventory space and tried activating the energy conversion formation on the chalk piece.

"Ding! A piece of chalk is disintegrated and received an energy of 0.000001EP"

Looking at the amount of energy, Allen was a little distressed. After thinking about it, he immediately understood that the main obstacle in gaining energy points right now is his spiritual energy.

Theoretically, he could just disintegrate everything he could find. But, the catch is using his spiritual energy to transport the items into the system inventory.

Taking the piece of chalk as an example, he need to take a million pieces of same in order to gain a single Energy point. After all, materials which have not relation with spirit energy cannot have a high energy value. And he didn't even fully develop his spiritual consciousness and is currently forcefully draining it through system help which leave him spiritually exhausted all the time.

So, he quickly forgot about making use a large number of useless materials to get some EP. He needed something that has a higher energy density and is more easily accessible.

Night 7:30 PM, Allen's home.

Allen who was already restraining himself from using the grandmaster level virtual experience card slowly walked down the stairs.

He wore a white colored round necked t-shirt with horizontal brown stripes, a wheat colored overcoat paired with a dark brown jeans. They were gifted to him by his parents Emma and Stane. If not for his thin posture, he would have looked very handsome.

They were not many people in the hall but most of them were his acquaintances. He could see Monica and Randal holding hands standing there holding their hands. There were the kids and teenagers from his neighbors house. Living in the same street, people are very close to each other.

His father Stane, who was 1.9 meters tall and had a bulk stature. Half of his hair had turned white there were thick calluses on his palms. He knew that his parents had never come out of the death of his half-brother whom he never met.

"Happy Birthday Allen" giving him a light hug, Stane wished him with a loud laugh. Stane had always been an upright and outspoken person and his happiness could be detected from his words.

Though Allen was puzzled regarding why his father was so joyous, he hurriedly replied with a tight hug and said " Thank you father!"

Soon, he got wishes from everyone and started cutting the cake. Blowing the candle made into number 16, he anticipated the changes to his future. A future that is now filled with hope.

soon, the guests started having dinner and Allen also had a sumptuous meal. All the items are cooked by his mother Emma. Though he is unclear about her level, he knows that she is the best cook he had even known.

After dinner, he said goodbye to his friends and he helped his parents clean up the house.

Soon after the cleaning is finished and just as he was about to upstairs and have a look at the Grandmaster level virtual experience card, he was stopped by Stane which had a packaged box in his hands.

" Allen, come here. Here is your birthday gift with you. Your father could finally get his hands on a precious potion. It's a body cleaning potion of High-quality and the ways to use it are written inside."

"Go! I wish you success!" saying this, Stane immediately felt that he was relieved of a heavy burden and left with a smile on his face.

As for Allen, he was already stunned in place. He knew how rare such a potion is how difficult it is get one. As far as he know, these kinds of potions are only available in the country capitals and rarely will they show up in state capitals.

Even if they do show up, they will be bid for sky high prices by local tycoons. when was it his uncle's turn to get his hands on one. He couldn't even estimate the price let alone guessing how to get it.

Alchemist is one of the most respectable professions in this world, because almost all the practitioners had to depend on them for medicinal supplements. Alchemy involves a broad knowledge of botany, chemistry, physics and a highly sensitive spiritual sense.

Potion making involves selection of ingredients, extracting the required materials or chemical compounds from the ingredients/ raw materials followed by mixing the raw materials in proper order and proportion. The in-between processes include complications like preservation of materials, monitoring the reactions, adjusting the temperature.

Not to mention spiritual sense, one had to complete refining their brain in order to achieve that. Combined with the academic requirements, becoming an alchemist became a very hard task.

Due to the difficult steps involved in the alchemy, even if the final product is made, most of the times, it will deviate from the original formulation and will not be as effective as expected.

Generally, only a flawless potion will be 100% effective and only a small number of alchemists can achieve that and most of them are giants in the industry. below that is a top level potion that can be more than 95% effective.

A high level potion be will 75-95% effective, mid level potion 50-75% effective and a low level potion will be 25-50% effective and below that is not considered a potion as it will be detrimental instead of being beneficial to body as it contains too much toxins or unknown content.

Most of the time, the government provided potion when children reach an age of 10 will be a low level potion and for a border region like Agar city, only the potions with 25-30% effectiveness will be provided.

The main problem with low effective potions is that even though they are useful to body, at the same time they will also leave some unwanted materials in the body. Due to this, the body will have to be cleansed again and again from time to time with the accumulation of toxins in the body.

Looking at the packaged box in his hands, Allen could only keep this great kindness in his heart and work hard to make them proud in the future.

After closing the door to his room, Allen opened the package to see a black metal box and gently opened the box to see a transparent cylindrical vial lying in the box. The fluid in the tube is pale greenish yellow in color.

The vial is embedded in a layer of soft material and below the soft material, there is a sheet of paper with some basic instructions and precautions in taking the potion. Reading the precautions, Allen was soon puzzled. The instructions are not much different from taking the low-level potion.

He thought that just like the flawless potion provided by the system, the high level potion also had to be taken in by diluting a portion of it and drinking it in steps. Feeling something off, he immediately questioned the system.

"System! why is the flawless potion so different from the high level potion?"

"Host! First of all, you have a big misunderstanding about the potions provided by the system. Do not compare the system products with the products of your low-level civilization. The system will only provide the best products."

"The potion provided by system is made from the very best ingredients, using a more following the perfect procedure and compressed to the limit. A single potion is all that is required for a normal person to complete the refining with the most optimum effect."

"The potion in the hands of host is made for a single time use. The formula is also not perfect and the technology for compressing spirit energy into the potion is not optimized."

Allen was stunned from the information from the system. There are many works that made him ruminate on then for a second. what in the hell is a low-levelled civilization? what is this spirit energy compression?

But, one thing was sure! He felt that he had underestimated the system. As the system mentioned, his experience had limited his imagination. But, this time he was happy that this happened.

The high level potion now didn't seem as attractive as before. But, this gave him an excuse for him about his coming changes. At least he could attribute his initial changes with this high level potion. So, he just packed the potion and kept in a safe place so that he could sell it back at a later date.
