Chapter 15: Monsterverse

After the progress reached 100%, The watch started rebooting and after a minute of restarting, he could use it again.

"Ding! It is detected that host has completed the achievement of level 1 Hunter."

"The achievement panel is added to the system interface."

"please visit the achievement panel to collect your rewards."

Before Allen could check out his newly updated watch, he was suddenly surprised by a string of system notifications.

'What the hell are these achievements? Is this an RPG system (role playing games) or an Equivalence system. where is the Equivalence.' He thought to himself mirthfully.

He thought about it many times and even tried asking the system many times why it was named Equivalence system but the system always keeps silent about it.

He could only give up.

Anyway, Black cat or white cat, if it can catch mice, it's a good cat. So, he ignored these useless questions and hurriedly opened the system panel.

There he could see a new blinking tab with the name of achievements added to the existing ones.

After opening it, there are a long list of Achievements and their corresponding rewards written beside them.

All the achievements are grey except one that is blinking with golden light.

It was the achievement representing level 1 Hunter. He clicked on it.

"Ding! Congratulations host! You got a free lottery chance"

"Ding! Congratulations host! you got a level 1 Monsterverse."

"Please collect your rewards from the system inventory"

Looking at the rewards, Allen was puzzled and immediately opened the system inventory and found a book quietly lying there. The book has a 1ft X 1ft cross section and it is nearly 5cm thick.

With a thought, the book immediately appeared in his hand. The book is very heavy and he felt his arm almost sinking down. The surface of the book cover is black like ink.

There were some mysterious runes on the book cover and he felt as if his consciousness was being sucked into it when he tried to observe them deeply.

Allen opened the book.

The pages of the book are pure white. There was nothing on the first page.

So, he tried to go to the next page but couldn't pry open the next page. It was as if the pages in the book are firmly attached to each other.

After 2 minutes of futile experiments, he could only give up trying and asked the system.

"System! What is this Monsterverse and how to use this?" Allen asked.

"The Monsterverse is run down version of a great treasure used for training peerless warriors in a certain Advanced civilization."

"Each page of the Monsterverse can store the soul and DNA of a particular monster. With enough energy, you can project these monsters into the internal world of the Monsterverse and you would be able to fight the particular monster with your thought projection."

Allen was stunned. Isn't this just like the virtual simulation chamber?

Though it was somewhat disappointing, on further thought, isn't having a portable virtual simulation chamber always with you a very exciting thing?

He could now hone his combat anywhere and at any time without the need of a virtual simulation chamber.

The only problem is how to add the monsters into the Monsterverse. According to the system, he needs the soul and DNA of the monster to add them to the Monsterverse.

"System! How to absorb the soul and DNA of a monster?

"The soul of a monster can be absorbed by activating the Monsterverse with your spiritual sense at the proximity of a monster's death within 5 minutes of it's death. As for DNA, just place the monster blood, fur or anything with it's DNA on the page and it will be absorbed." replied the system.

"Why is it only level 1? What are its limitations?" Allen asked again.

"As it is a run down version of the real Monsterverse, the level 1 Monsterverse can only store level 1 Monster and 10 level 2 monsters in it." system replied.

Allen felt happy hearing that. Level 2 monsters are equivalent to spirit budding realm. So, he could have combat partners at least until then.

Thinking that there is no use looking at the Monsterverse without any monster souls, Allen placed the Monsterverse back into the inventory and once again put his focus back on the updated watch.

With the technology of the earth federation, even the normal electronic watches are quite advanced.

They look quite nice with a screen spanning 5cm across the hand. The screen can be expanded by pulling the diagonal end.

After the watch was updated, The operating system was quite smooth and there were a 3 new applications installed in it.

One of them was the Hunter's assist. It deals with all the hunter related issues. It is maintained by the hunter's organization.

He opened the application and he was surprised to see that he was already logged into it.

There were many categories included in the app like the hunter's forum, hunter's gear, monster encyclopedia etc..,

There were even paid videos of hunter's fighting various monsters. Even though he wanted to watch them, he could only roll his eyes at his account balance.

The second app is the Hunter's radar. This function is almost completely based on the special comm chip.

The hunter's radar will instantly consume the battery and will work like a radar and sweeps the surroundings and will display if there are any living beings in the surroundings.

The distance of the sweep depends on the amount of energy input. His electronic watch is not a low end product and has a lower battery capacity.

According to the radar App, it can only sweep along a radius of around 7.5m in the air and 1m underground.

The last application is a simple one name 'Save Me' whose only function was to send a message to all the nearby hunter's when the hunters life is in danger. It can be activated manually or automatically when the watch detects that the hunter's life signals are deteriorating.

When he was exploring these changes, suddenly there was a message notification from the Hunter's assist.

"Hello hunter! I am Javid from hunter's organization. I am your aid from the rookie hunter program." said the message.

"What's that?" Allen immediately replied.

"It's a program launched by the government to help new hunter's so that they will not die as soon they enter the wilderness. As a new hunter, you are qualified for the assist."

"We are going to assign an established hunter team as your guide for the first hunt. If you are alright with it, please give us a date so that we can assign you a team that is available on the said date."

Looking at the messages, Allen was surprised and then was happy. Just as Allen was puzzled about how to get monster souls and DNA, This thing came like an Oasis in a desert. All Allen had to do was to follow them and he could get combat experience in the wild and also get some well needed monster souls.

After thinking about it, He decided to get it done with it as soon as possible.

He knew that he lacks time and didn't want to delay things even for a little bit.

So, he hurriedly replied back saying that he was ready to go into the wilderness and it is better to have it done as soon as possible.

"Alright, Hunter! We will notify you as soon as an established team of hunters are available. You can always contact me if you have any doubts or if there any further changes." replied Javid.
