Chapter 3

"Rejected again? What the hell?" Wen said as he looked at the phone.

After his divorce with Lin he has been going to companies to get a job for himself but so far he has been rejected again and again which wasn't pleasant for him. He slumped on the wall in his room as he looked at his phone with a downcast gaze.

"And tomorrow is Lin's marriage. I'm not in the mood for that." Wen said to himself as he looked at the date.

He stayed like that for a few more minutes before he scratched his head with a frustrated look before he looked at the phone and at the invitation.

'At the very least, I want to see the guy who is going to marry her since I was her husband.' Wen thought to himself despite the displeasure he felt.

Making up his mind he went out of his house and bought a few good looking clothes. They weren't that pricey, but still looked good so he was fine with it. He checked the clothes before he departed for home. But on the way he saw quite many people in the shopping district talking about the marriage between Xiao Lin and Zhang Huan.

"Wow! Xiao Lin and Young Master Zhang Huan are going to be married tomorrow! And they have given us permission to attend the wedding!" A girl said as she looked at her phone.

"We're so lucky." The girl beside her said with a smile as well.

Wen sighed at their words as he made his way though the district and made it to his home. He then looked for jobs again after eating dinner before applying again and then going to sleep.

Time skip

"Here it is." Wen said as he looked at the massive place for the wedding.

Many others were also attending this wedding as he watched them enter. He also entered the venue as he looked at the grand decorations. He also spotted many distinguished people from many wealthy families there as he saw many of them. But he walked and managed to see the two main people who are the reason this marriage is happening in the first place.

At the stage he saw Xiao Lin standing in a beautiful white wedding dress with her groom, Zhang Huan right beside her as he is also dressed in a lavish dress.

Zhang Huan is a man with bluish black hair, black eyes, and fair skin. He also seems to radiate confidence and arrogance as he has a smile on his face as he greeted the various families that came to attend the wedding as Lin greeted them as well.

He saw many Young Master's here as well, there were also people from the most distinguished families as well along with those in the military.

'They spared no expense to make this a grand occasion. Compared to mine this is nothing. Haaah. There's no point in dwelling on the past now. But to attend the wedding of my own wife a week after we divorced.' Wen thought to himself as he sighed to himself.

He then opted to watch the rest of the weddings from a corner as he drank and ate some light drinks and food. Soon the proceedings began as the invited pepper celebrated the wedding happily. He saw many of the wealthy and powerful families looking at the newly formed couple with calculating eyes. He also saw Xiao Lin's parents and sister among the crowd who were clapping happily.

He just sighed despondently as he watched the proceedings. He knew for a fact that he won't be able to see Lin after this as his status won't allow him to meet her. After that it was time to take the photo but he had no intention of going there.

Unfortunately, a security guard came towards him and then told him to go to take a photo with them. When he had refused the guard said that it was an order from Zhang Huan so he was unable to decline. He walked onto the stage and he saw Lin, Huan and their family greeting the ones who came to take a photo. Among them Xiao Ling noticed him as she smirked at him as she walked to him.

"Hey useless brother, look at this. My sister finally has a man that she deserves. How do you like that?" Ling asked him with an arrogant smile.

"Honestly, I don't like this one bit." Wen muttered as he reached the stage.

The Xiao and Zhang family now noticed him, with the Xiao parents smirking at him arrogantly while those from the Zhang family looking at him like trash. Zhang Huan has the same look as his parents while Lin has a slightly surprised face but she turned it back into a neutral look as she looked at him, which was a stark contrast to the smiling face she have the guests.

"So you are the trash who married Xiao Lin before huh. You're even more miserable looking than I expected. I knew that you didn't deserve a woman like her." Zhang Huan said with a condescending smirk.

"Well, then it's good for you that I was a miserable fellow huh." Wen said to him with a deadpan look.

"Heh. Say whatever you want, but this is the last time your going to be seeing her. A man of your status can never hope to even come close to her. So make sure to savour this current opportunity." Zhang Huan said with the same condescending smirk.

"Well said my son. To think a beautiful woman like Xiao Lin would have a trash like him as a husband is laughable." Huan's mother said with a smile.

"It's a good thing that we came with the proposition huh." Huan's father said with a smirk as he looked at the Xiao family.

"Yes, it has been very beneficial." Xiao Fan said with a smile.

"We are indeed fortunate that our daughter has found a man who is truly worthy of her." Xiao Jie said with a smile.

'Arrogant as always.' Wen thought to himself as he looked at their behaviour.

He then looked at Lin who is looking at him with a neutral look as he sighed again.

"Hope you have a happy married life." Wen said to her before he walked away.

"That's guaranteed. We don't need your wishes." Huan said to him as he watched him walk away.

The parents from both families were smiling happily as Huan has a face of victory while Ling has an excited face. Lin looked at Wen who left the stage and made his way out through the crowd. But he stopped walking for a moment and turned to look at Lin again.

Lin saw his sad eyes which caused her to widen her eyes a bit. He then turned around and then walked out of the venue as Lin kept her eyes on his before he disappeared from her sight.

"Lin, get ready, another distinguished family is coming." Huan said causing her to come out of her thoughts as she got ready.
