Chapter 150

RATE AND REVIEW

" Rose, what are you doing here? Come with me and show me where the files for the cosmetics that'll be delivered to Jayson's beauty palace are" one of Rose's colleague said.

" Can that wait? I'm in the middle of something" she asked.

" No. Now" the colleague said and dragged her away.

" Try to watch where you walk next time" Raymond said 

" Yes sir" she said with a smile on her face.

" I'll be back, someone's waiting for me" he said and left. 

Maya sighed before going into his office. When she got in, she saw it was a bit scattered.

 " I'll arrange it" she said to herself and started arranging it. " Perfect" she muttered to herself after she finished arranging the office.

" So, I...... WOW" Raymond muttered after walking into his office, " who arranged it?" He asked.

" I did sir. It was looking a bit messy so I decided to arrange it while I waited for you" she said with a smile as usual.

" Oh, that was very nice of you" he said and walked to his seat where he sat.

" You said you wanted to talk to me sir" she asked.

" Yes, I did. Have a seat please" he said and she sat opposite him. He sighed before continuing.

" Normally, I wouldn't ask but after coming across Lilly today, my heart melted and I will like to know more about her" he said.

" Well.... She's Lilly, the last out of three children birthed by her mum. She attends the gifted elementary school and she's a very bright student. That's all I can say for now" she said " why do you ask"

" After hearing what you're going through in your family, I felt bad so I decided to be of help to y'all" he said and took out a cheque from his drawer before writing on it. " Here you go" he said and gave it to her.

" What is this sir?" She asked.

" That's a cheque of hundred thousand dollars. Take it, you'll need it" he said.

" Oh my goodness, thank you very much sir" she said happily and Rose stared in shock.

Raymond had just given Maya a cheque of hundred thousand dollars!! She ran to her office.

" You're welcome" he said.

" Thank you sir, I appreciate but I'm sorry..... I can't accept it" she said and Raymond stared at her shocked.

Becks sat on her bed, confused. Her emotions were playing games with her and she needed to pull herself together to stop her world from crashing.

She claimed to be a married woman with kids and yet whenever she was around Raymond, she felt things that she'd never felt in her entire life.

She poured herself a glass of water and gulped it in a go.

" What are you doing to me Raymond? I'm a mother, I shouldn't be thinking of you like this" she said to herself.

She quickly dashed into the bathroom and got into the bathtub, showering with her clothes on. She closed her eyes and thought of how she'd felt when he hugged her the first time they met. How he'd held her waist and the tickling feeling she had when ever his skin made contact with hers.

She sighed as she got out of the bathtub and went to her closet to change into something more comforting.

After changing into something more relaxing, she went and laid on the bed. She was so tired that she didn't know when she slept off.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP, her alarm blared as she got up. She took her phone and realized it was already lunch time. She sleepily got off the bed and checked her phone.

" Oh my goodness" she exclaimed after realizing she'd had fifteen missed calls.

She quickly redialed and the call was answered immediately. It was like they were waiting for her call.

" Mrs Becks, I thought you were supposed to be here at ten?" The voice over the phone asked.

" I'm so sorry, I'm not feeling too well" she said.

" It's fine, I guess we'll have to rebook the appointment"

" Of course, thanks" she said and hung up. She sluggishly walked down to the kitchen where she saw Leah clearing up.

" Hey madam" Leah greeted as she walked to Becks to help her make her way to the couch " you don't look fine, should I call the doctor?"

" No no it's fine, I'll just eat and get some rest. I'm just so tired" she said and rested her head on the couch. She couldn't explain how she was feeling because she didn't even know what was wrong with her. Was it because of the feelings she was begin to develop for Raymond or was it because of the fact that an old wound was being opened? Only time could tell.

" What are you making?" She managed to ask Leah.

" I want to make noodles but I'm afraid we've run out of it so I'll have to rush to the market" she said.

" Alright then, make it quick" she said and laid on the couch, she wasn't at her best for sure.

" Are you sure I shouldn't call a doctor?" Leah asked.

" No it's fine" she said and Leah gave her a questioning look before leaving the house.

As if the clouds were waiting for Leah to leave, they began to cru minutes after Leah left.

" Damn this rain" Becks muttered to herself as she dragged herself up to shut the windows but it was just too hard for that considering the fact that she was still weak.

She managed to close all the windows before going back to the couch where she sat and folded herself. She was feeling cold and nauseous so she decided to make herself some tumeric milk.

She sluggishly went to the kitchen where she lit the gas and placed a kettle of water on it.

" Now where's the milk" she asked herself as he ransacked the freezer. She smiled after seeing the bottle of milk and taking it out. She poured the milk into the pan and poured the water before leaving it to boil.

Before she could take another step, she lost her balance and had to hold on to the kitchen counter to maintain her balance. Her head was spinning and she couldn't stop it.

She was so dizzy that she didn't realize that the milk was about to boil over. She rushed to the sink and threw up in it. She returned to where the gas was and just as she was about to pass out, Leonard rushed in.

" Hold on" he said and held her.

" Le..... Leo... Le" before she could complete her statement, she passed out.

Becks slowly opened her eyes as she stared at Leonard and the kids who stared at her worried.

" What happened?" She asked as she got up with help from Leonard.

" We should be asking you that mummy" Liv said " what happened to you?" 

" I'll tell you. She's being stressing herself way too much and it's taking a toll on her health" Leonard said.

" Please mummy, don't stress yourself" Trish begged.

" I'm sorry darling, I didn't mean to stress myself" Becks said.

" Do you promise not to stress yourself again?" Trish asked

" Promise" Becks said and pecked her.

" Alright then kids, I think it's time for mummy to rest so go to your room" Leonard said and Leah lead the kids to their room while Leonard shut the door behind them.

" It's back" Becks said teary eyed and Leonard nodded.

" We need to go for phase two" he said, almost like a plead and she sniffled.

" Alright" she said and tears streamed down her eyes freely.
