Chapter 5 - The cursed princess

And the largest kingdom of all is the vampires, then the elves with her father rules.

Taking a deep breath Valerie stepped further into the room, it was huge and it spoke of wealth and royalty, with two big chairs for the king and queen on a high platform further to the right, and two smaller ones beside each of them, a beautiful crystal chandelier big enough to crush a car, a special door for royalty, the queen always makes sure everything was perfect, no mistakes must be made.

Servants were seen serving drinks to people and she spotted one getting a scolding from a young girl.

Valerie made sure to keep here eyes fixed on the ground she didn't bow her head though, because a princess should always keep her head up high was what she learnt, although she was scared and wanted it down she wanted to make sure she doesn't embarrass her father. 

At least her hair was blocking most of her veiw except the one before her, even at that she could still feel most of people's eyes on her and it wasn't a good thing, cause they were staring at her like she was a cursed animal, she could even hear a them talk about her like she wasn't there.

" Look, her comes the cursed princess"

"Why is she even called a princess..? more like a cursed slave."

"I don't know why his highness hasn't gotten rid of her yet, she pollutes the air"

"She's beautiful though, too bad she's a human. Urggh"

The further Valerie steps in the more unpleasant comments she hears, the only thing stopping her from crying was her father, he wasn't there yet. she knew once he was here it'll be over, more like she wouldn't here them anymore, not like it'll stop them from whispering but at least she wouldn't hear them.

' Just a few more minutes..... Just a few more minutes....' Valerie chanted over and over again as she made her way to the wall and rested against it another thing that makes her feel safe.

And her prayers were answered when the doorman announced the king and queen's arrival. 

And there he is, a tall man with looks girls would die for, Sandy blond hair with a soft and gentle aura, he looked like he was glowing, he adorned his white royalty attire and walked in with his queen on his arm. 

Everyone bowed then he at waved them to rise. Then his eyes scanned the area and stopped when he spotted Valerie.

He gave her the smile she has always loved, the she smiled back at him and he made his way towards her the queen still beside him.

"Hello princess" he stated with love and gentleness in his voice "you look lovely darling" 

"Thank you Father, you look handsome too" she replied with a little blush.

The king threw his head back with a laugh, his daughter was the cutest.

A soft music could be heard signaling the time for the first dance with the king.

He was to pick anyone he wanted to share the first dance with. He stretched his hand out and offered it to his daughter with a smile.

" May I have this dance princess..??"

There was a few gasps and then whispering.

Valerie was shocked, she stood there with wide eyes staring at her father, a young girl princesses especially weren't allowed to dance until they turned 18, although she'll turn 18 in a few weeks she's still 17.

She hesitantly took his hand and let him lead her to the middle of the hall, to say she was scared would be an understatement she was terrified.
