Chapter 22 - Turning point

The attention quickly shifted making me feel nervous by giving a warm smile since I need to act like a child for them until I decide to confess what I truly am. Whatever they feel, I'll accept it since these people are the ones that showed me affection and the warmth of a family for the first time in 50 years. 

"How rare that you two are actually asking for a request."

My mother remarked since this is one of the rarity that we ask something from them when we normally just accept what we are given. Of course, I could see in her eyes the excitement to pamper us but I doubt that expression of hers would remain.

"Alright first, tell me what you want, Rudy. After that, Rein, I'll listen to your request next."

I nodded letting my brother speak his mind while waiting for my turn. I can't share my excitement to test myself with Ghislaine who was Sword King Rank. 

"The thing is, I've recently hit a dead end in my magical studies. And for that reason, I was hoping to attend the Ranoa University of Magic."

"Oh?"

His attention perked that I knew wouldn't end well for him and made me inwardly sigh. 

"But when I mentioned this to Sylphy, she broke down in tears and begged me not to leave her."

"Hah, what a little lady-killer! Wonder who you got that from?"

And there goes another smack from the two ladies flanking him. This father of mine never learned to stop being perverted in front of his Wives? His relationship with Lilia is complicated to say the least. 

"The ideal solution would be for the two of us to go together, but Sylphie's family isn't as well-off as ours. I wanted to ask if you'd consider paying for both of us to attend."

"You don't say? I can manage you but adding my daughter in la-"

"S-She's not your daughter in law!"

"Really? Rudy, when you see the body of naked woman then it's best to take responsibility."

"Father, does that mean you need more women to take responsibility beside Mama and Lilia?"

These words of mine cause my mother to glare at my father who purposely sweat afraid that he would pissed off my mother even more than he did. I couldn't help but laugh inside seeing his reaction.

"I-I…O-Of course not! *Cough* the point is that where would you get the money for her?"

"Then help me find a job so that I can pay for Sylphy tuition."

Rudeus was determined to get our fathers approval and could see my father contemplating about something but I knew that he was thinking of contacting our distant relatives to let my brother accomplish his wish. 

"I got it. In that case, I'll try to find someone to help."

I could see my brother lit up hearing that my father agreed to his condition then my father turned to me.

"Now, it's your turn Rein."

"Papa, Mama. I would like to leave the village and become an adventurer."

"Absolutely not."

Zenith immediately shut me down without hesitation while looking at me with stern eyes since unlike my brother who only wanted to work and gain money for their Tuition in Ronoa Academy, I am going to risk my life in dangers that could possibly lead to death. This is a huge contrast to my father's reaction who on the other hand chuckled at my request.

"I knew this day was coming."

"Papa did?"

"Of course. How could I not know? You look like you have been constipating for the entire year. Honestly, you took longer than I thought you would to ask this." 

I smiled. It seemed that Paul had realized my feelings of frustration without me even noticing. Were my expressions that transparent?

"Then you understand? Why do I need to leave?"

I asked with a hopeful look. Paul nodded with a smile, but wiped away his grin right after receiving a nasty glare from Zenith, 

"Ahem, I understand where you are coming from, but the answer is still no."

I frowned,

"Why not? You know that I am strong enough to protect myself-"

"Because you are just a child!"

Zenith shot back at me while I tried to pretend to feel disappointed and flinch.

'All according to plan.'

If I had a pair of glasses then it would glint since everything is placed in the right pieces. 

"I have to agree with your mother here." 

My father added and continued.

"You're only 7 years old. Even though you're a smart kid, there are still many things you don't know. So what if you can beat me in a fight? You are still way too inexperienced. Outside Buena Village, you might be cheated, robbed, scammed and tricked without even realizing."

"But Papa, I feel like this place is holding me back from reaching my true potential and want to challenge myself to further refine my style."

I explained to him trying to convince and influence his decision in letting me train under Ghislaine which I wanted. My father nodded at me then leaned back on his chair contemplating his decision before coming with the conclusion.

"I understand. I think I might have a solution to your problem. Give me some time to give you an answer. No promises though."

Zenith and Lilia looked at him in surprise, whereas I beamed brightly. Now the only thing that I needed to do is another month until Ghislaine arrived and finally had a duel with her. I could finally see how I fair with the sword king since everything had been assumptions.

It has been one month since I asked my family if I could leave Buena village to be an adventurer. Even though Paul kept asking me to wait patiently for his answer and occupied my thoughts in continuing training my sword style to at least around intermediate Rank, having created a few more moves. 

Today might be the day where I wouldn't be able to spend time with my little sisters once I leave, therefore I went to play with them. Right now they are in a crib full of toys that I made in my spare time and looking at their adorable faces just warms my heart. 

 "Norn-chan~ Aisha-chan~ It's Big Brother here~"

"Agagga aha."

"Today might be the last time you will see me so I'll play with you for the whole day~"

They were very happy as I played with them. Both of them can crawl now so they're energy is at least enough for the 

time I will leave. I carried them both in my arms and was fortunate that I'm tall enough to take both of them. This seems to be a growth spurt after eating a large quantity of Mana crystal. Of course I made sure to diet it to ensure that the energy is properly spread out. 

My cute little sister was laughing as I carried them around while singing them a lullaby that I always took the opportunity.  I only hope this song would bury in their mind to remember me once I'm gone. 

"Rein, your father is calling for you. Here let me take Norn from you."

"Young master, pardon but I need to take Aisha. Master inquires about your presence."

I nodded and handed them while the two sisters of mine reached out not wanting me to let go but I gave each a kiss on the forehead that made their mothers warmly smile. We went outside where my brother and father were waiting then noticed someone else.

It was A dark skinned woman wearing a revealing outfit with rippling muscles and a heavily scarred body knocked on our door. She had greyish silver hair, and as explosive as her body was, the most surprising part of her were the beast-like ears on her head and a cat tail sticking out from her behind. Paul, who had opened the door, greets her with a smile, 

"Hey muscles, it's good to see you after so long."

The woman nodded coldly, though she still had a faint smile as well.  

"Paul."

This woman was none other than the black Wolf Sword king, Ghislaine and the one I'm aiming to have an intimate relationship with.

"Ghislaine! It's been so long!" 

Zenith warmly greets her before moving to give her a hug. Towards Zenith, Ghislaine had a much more pleasant response, smiling with genuine affection in her tone as she replied.

"Zenith. How have you been?"

My parents and Ghislaine exchanged a few polite courtesies for a couple minutes before the woman approached us with my brother by my side in awe at her appearance.

The beast woman was tall, and had a large bust as well. Looking up at her from my short body, she looked like a bronzed skin amazon huntress with her chest almost blocking her face. Yes, step on me mommy- I mean, nice to meet you mommy.

Shit! Act your age dammit! You're once the top class assasin and you're starting to act this way! Though, who would refuse a busty and toned woman like her? I love Roxy with her cute yet mature personality and her petite body but Ghislaine is another beauty with the personality of an adorable cat. 

"Are these the two you mention?"

She asked, her one eye that was not covered by an eye patch was indifferently evaluating me.

"Hi, I'm Rudeus. Nice to meet you, Miss Ghislaine."

"Hello Sexy busty miss, I'm Reinhard, it's nice to meet you."

"...It seems you got your father's personality."

At that moment, Zenith smacked my father in the head, scolding him for corrupting us but I'm just trying to act like an ignorant child for now. 

"Father, what's going on?"

Rudeus was a bit confused at Ghislaine's sudden appearance before our father asking my brother an important question.

"About that, if I ask for you to seperate with Sylphy would you accept?"

"No, I don't want that."

"...is that so."

At this moment, my father grabbed my brother and threw him before the two started to fight while we observed them and could see that my brother isn't suited in frontal fight since he was magician than swordsman since they prefer attacking up close that sharpen their senses and experience ways to take advantage of the situation.

 We watched as Rudeus tried his hardest to fight back but couldn't fight back when my father was too nimble and more experienced even with powerful spells won't do much but delay him. In the end, Rudeus was knocked out by my father who caught him by surprise when he used a Water god style.

"Why did you knock out, Rudy?"

"*Sigh* That's because I believe your brother is better off taking distance away from Sylphy for their growth."

He carried my brother, placing him to the carriage that Ghislaine had bought while my parents were giving their goodbye with my brother before taking their attention to me.

"Now listen Rein everything that your brother is not allowed to do apply to you as well. You already know that, don't you?"

"Yes but why is Miss Ghislaine here?"

"Well about why don't you tell him, Muscle head."

She scoffed at him for his comment then turned her attention to me.

"You have not told him?"

Paul laughed at her question because she was confused why they didn't inform me that I would be tested by her but I already knew that since this was all according to plan. 

"We wanted to surprise him. So that he won't have time to prepare. As his parent, I have the responsibility to help him with his request. But that doesn't mean we will make it easy for him."

He then turned to me.

"Rein, remember a month ago I told you I had a solution to your problem?"

"Yes?"

"Well. She is the solution. Let me introduce her properly. Her name is Ghislaine 'Muscle Brain' Dedoldia. She is a Sword King."
