Chapter 31: Masquerade Ball Part 2

Aeon's POV

"You two go ahead, I have to talk to T first after I get dress" sagot ko sakanya.

"What? You're not coming with us?" nagtatakang tanong ni Dark.

"No. I have to ask T first if how was his talk with Trasher" I have to be prepared if that guy didn't listen to T.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" tanong niya pa. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako. This is what she gets for hanging around with Thalia. She gets nosy sometimes like her. I turn around only to see a gorgeous lady standing in front of me. Dark is wearing her lace sleeve maroon gown. I'm not really good with words but there's only one thing that describes her right now. She's gorgeous.

"Are you two done?" rinig ko ang bagot na bagot na si Thalia ng makapasok siya sa kwarto and there it is. Another beautiful woman with her navy blue gown.

"Oh my god" mangha niyang sabi ng makita niya si Dark.

"You're so pretty" nakangiting komento niya at nang bumaling siya sa akin ay akala ko ay iirapan niya ako ngunit nagulat ako nang nakakunot noo siyang tumingin sa akin bago nagtanong.

"Why aren't you dress yet?" aniya. Umiwas ako ng tingin sakanila.

"You two go ahead. I have to talk to T first. I have to make sure that everything will be okay" sagot ko sakanila.

"Kailan ka pa naging opisyal ng school? Sa pagkakaalam ko ako ang student government president" sarkastiko niyang sabi.

"We have to make sure that everything will be okay" I calmly answered her though I'm pissed at her right now. Thalia is ready to talk back but Dark cut her off.

"Okay, just be careful" paalala ni Dark.

"I will. You too" sagot ko sakanila. Hindi na sumagot si Dark bagkus ay hinila na niya si Thalia na kanina pa nakasimangot saka sila lumabas sa kwarto. Nang masiguro kong nakaalis na sila ng tuluyan ay pinulot ko ang aking cellphone na nasa ibabaw ng kama saka ko tinawagan si T.

"T" bungad ko sakanya ng sagutin niya ang tawag. "Did you already talk to him?" tanong ko pagkatapos.

"Yes, fortunately, they already double the security before I can ask him to. Nagpakalat narin sila ng bantay sa labas ng paaralan. There are also warlocks and witches inside and outside the school. They cast some barrier around it" sagot niya. The security is pretty tight but I can't help but still worry about our safety. I've never felt like this before. It's like there's something big coming.

"Did we miss something?" tanong ko kay T. I think there's something missing.

"What is it A?" ramdam ko ang pagtataka sa kanyang boses.

"I don't know. It's like there's something missing" sagot ko sakanya.

"Everything will be alright. Don't worry" he assured.

"Okay" tanging sagot ko sakanya saka ko pinatay ang tawag. Ngayon lang ako nakaramdam ng ganitong kaba. I hope everything will be alright. I took a deep breath then I started to get ready.

Ilang minuto lang akong naghanda. Hindi naman ako katulad ng ibang mga babae na halos dalawang oras magbihis. Nang masiguro kong ayos na ang kolorete sa mukha at maayos narin ang buhok ko ay nagbihis na ako. Sinuot ko ang aking gown. I had a hard time zipping it because I can't reach my back but I still succeed. I wear my necklase after that and my opera gloves and my heels. I look at myself one last time in the vanity mirror.

"Mmmm. Perfect" komento ko saka ko kinuha ang clutch bag na nakapatong sa ibabaw ng dresser. I was about to leave the room when I heard a knock on the pad's door. My forehead crease. Bumalik ba si Dark at Thalia? May nakalimutan ba sila? I asked myself.

"Who could this be?" tanong ko saka ako lumabas ng kwarto at nagtungo sa pintuan. I am ready to pounce at the person outside when I saw a man standing in front of me with his black tux and silver mask.

"T?" banggit ko sa pangalan niya. I look at him from head to toe, making sure if he's really the man behind the mask.

"Hey, gorgeous" bati niya sa akin. I'm not gorgeous, he's gorgeous with his black tux. I never saw T wear a tux before, it's actually my first time and I must say he killed it.

"Hey handsome" balik bati ko rin sakanya.

"Whatever" I laugh when I saw him roll his eyes.

"Shall we?" he asked while offering his arms out. I smiled at his gesture then I place my hand in his arms.

"Let's go?" tanong ko sakanya. Giniya niya ako sa may hall ng pad saka kami lumabas. I'm actually surprised to see him earlier outside the pad. I never thought that he would be my escort. Naglakad kami palabas ng pad saka kami sumakay sa sasakyan. The venue is still inside the school. It's in the hall where parties and assembly meetings are held and with this type of school that dominates most of the island students choose to use cars instead of walking. But with vampires, it's actually a piece of cake but in this case, of course, they need to use cars instead of walking.

Giniya ako ni T papasok sa sasakyan na sinunod ko naman saka siya umikot papunta sa drivers seat.

"Who's car is this?" nagtatakang tanong ko.

"Mine" simpleng sagot niya saka niya pinaandar ang sasakyan.

"What? How?" I pried even more. Isn't it prohibited to bring a car here?

"Connections" maikling sagot niya. I stared at him curiously. T is always a mystery to me from the beginning. Marami pa akong hindi alam sakanya ngunit kahit ganun I chose to trust him with me and my sister's life.

"Stop looking at me like that" aniya habang nagmamaneho.

"Like what?" tanong ko saka ako tumingin sa harapan. We passed the other colleges' pads. We're now venturing into the secondary and the primary buildings.

"Like asking yourself if you should still trust me or not" napatingin ako sakanya ng dahil sa sagot niya.

"Should I?" taas kilay kong tanong.

"It's up to you to trust me or not" sagot niya. Hindi na ako nagsalita pa pagkatapos non. I see every reason not to trust him because of his connection to Trasher but here I am still willing to trust him from here and on. Hinilig ko nalang ang aking ulo sa bintana ng sasakyan.

Ilang oras pang nagmaneho si T bago kami nakarating sa hall.

"We're here" anunsyo niya. Yup I can see that.Sarkastikong ani ng utak ko.

Pagkalabas niya ng sasakyan ay umikot siya saka niya binuksan ang pintuan nito upang makalabas ako. Sinuot ko muna ang aking mask bago lumabas.

"Thanks" pagpapasalamat ko sakanya ng ilahad niya ang kanyang kamay upang alalayan ako. Maraming mga sasakyan sa labas ng hall at may mga tao na ring papasok rito. The hall is like a single castle. May hagdanan ito ang within the stairs, there's a huge double door.

"Good evening ma'am, sir" bati sa amin ng dalawang guwardya na siyang nagbabantay ng pintuan at bumabati sa mga bisita.

"Good evening" si T ang bumati dahil hindi na ako nag abalang batiin pa sila. Pagkatapos ay binuksan na nila ang naglalakihang pintuan. When I entered the door, I felt some kind of magic in it. I think it's the barrier.

Pagpasok namin ni T ay bumungad sa amin ang isa pang guwardya sa loob na may hawak na tablet sa kanyang kamay.

"Welcome" bati niya saka niya nilahad ang kanyang kamay sa ere upang ipakita ang hall.

"Presenting, Ms. Black and Mr. Maverick" anunsyo ng guwardya sa lahat ng tao na nasa baba. Lahat sila ay tumingin sa direksyon namin ni T. So much for not wanting to draw attention.

The hall's design is a combination of vintage, victorian and modern style. Classy and elegant. Bumaba kami ni T sa may hagdan at naglakad sa may pinagdarausan ng party.

We entered the hall and I saw many people. Unfamiliar faces and behind those unfamiliar ones I saw the two gorgeous ladies bickering with each other. I can tell because of their gowns. Nilapitan ko silang dalawa.

"Oh my god. Aeon?" Thalia shrieked when she saw me.

"You're so pretty" maarteng dagdag niya.

"Ang ingay mo" suway ko sakanya.

"And this must be T" ani naman ni Dark habang nakatingin kay T. I saw Thalia become uneasy. Maybe because of what happened earlier.

"Hello, my beautiful ladies" bati niya kay Dark saka niya kinuha ang kamay nito at hinalikan.

"You're quite the gentleman, aren't you?" nakangising ani ni Dark. I smiled at how easy-going Dark is.

"Gentleman my ass" rinig kong bulong ni Thalia habang nakasimangot. I saw T pulled up his lips into a grin.

"So how's the party going?" pag iiba ko ng usapan.

"So far, everything is normal" sagot niya habang nakatingin sa mga tao sa paligid. Napansin kong kumuha kumuha si Thalia ng inumin sa waiter na dumaan.

"Don't drink too much Thalia" saway ko sakanya. We can't afford her to get wasted before the party begins.

"Bummer" komento niya at akmang lalagukin na sana niya ito nang pinigilan siya ni T.

"Ooops, not so fast" ani T saka inagaw sakanya ang baso ng at ininom ito.

"What the--" magrereklamo na sana si Thalia ng pnigilan siya ni Dark.

"That's enough Thalia. Kanina ka pa umiinom" saway niya. Thalia pouted while looking at T with daggers. I heard T chuckle at what she did. Siniko ko siya sa tiyan bago nagsalita.

"Don't piss her off" I told him. Ilang minuto pa kaming natahimik bago ako nagsalita.

"There's something wrong" ani ko. Everything seems normal and quiet and it's bugging me.

"What is it?" nagtatakang tanong ni Dark.

"I don't know. It's too normal" sagot ko. Sasagot na sana si Dark ng biglang nagsalita ang guwardya na nasa hagdanan.

"Presenting, Mr. Rohan, the Hale twins, Mr. Philips, Ms. Evans, and Mr. Howard"
