8.Ethereal Steps

Han Qin woke up the next day as he made his way to the missions place, as he walked in he could see a crowd infront of the mission board.

He pushed his way through, "huh?, who is this" one kid said annoyed, "are you picking a fight".

Han Qin looked him in the eyes, the kid got scared 'fuck why are his eyes so scary', "Hehehe, sorry I'll make way", the kid made way for Han Qin as Han Qin continued.

As he got to the front he could hear grumpy voices behind him but they were scared as they all knew he was first in the exam.

Han Qin walked around the mission board looking for a mission that'll give him the most points. 'Hunt a 20 Qi condensation beast reward 20 sect points'.

'I'll take that' Han Qin then walked up to the elder approving the missions. "I'd like to do this mission", Han Qin showed him the sheet as they elder approved.

'There so many kid thinking they can take on Qi condensation beasts'.

"Kid your only a body refinement cultivator, I advice you to take back this mission, you'll die 100%", the elder said as Han Qin walked to the exit, Han Qin stopped but didnt say anything walking out.

Han Qin walked to the gate, he then showed the mission he was going on, and he was let out.

"You have a month to complete it".

'The beasts should be in the forest nearby the sect', Han Qin then proceeded to sprint east, it took him 3 hours to arrive.

*ROARRR*

'There's beasts fighting', he ran towards the noise as he saw to Qi condensation fighting with open wounds.

'Easy' Han Win thought, he leapt up into the sky, the beasts fighting stop as they heard a noise looking in that direction.

They saw a human in the sky, Han Qin unsheathed his sword as a torrent of cold aura burst out, [Glacier Slash], he slashed cleanly the heads of both the beasts.

Collecting them he continued to look for the other 18 beasts.

He encountered a beast killing it swiftly '17 remaining'.

"This will take long", "I need to draw as many as I can to me"

Han Qin then froze the ground 2 meters ahead of him and pored the blood of the beast there to attract the remaining beast.

He then waited for 5 minutes as he could hear thuds coming from every direction.

*Boom*

10 beasts surrounded Han Qin as he stood there with his clothes fluttering, the beast waited no longer as they pounced on him.

"[Ice Lancelot]" A cold aura surrounded Han Qin as a terrifying chill exploded in all directions, Han Qin then slashed in all directions.

Returning to his calm state as the cold atmosphere dispersed, the 10 beasts froze.

*Crack*

They all then crumbled into pieces.

Han Qin just used the second move of the Flambé Ice Sword Art, "pheww" he exhaled cold air as he picked up the heads and throwing them into his bag.

"Let's get this over with" Han Qin the disappeared, a man appeared in the sky as he looked at Han Qin, beside him Elder Feng stood behind respectfully.

"Sect master, see I told you his a genius" Elder Feng said, "indeed", the man said, he had a purple robe on with his hair tied in a bun, he lion to be in his mid thirties.

"But, although his a genius, he keeps to his own, I feel a darkness coming from him which is not good", Elder Feng also nodded, "at this rate he will never have any allies, he'll only be surrounded by enemies".

"It won't be long before he dies" the sect master shook his head.

"Sect master is there a way to solve his predicament" Elder Feng couldn't help asking.

"Hmm, I'm not sure, but I'll keep an eye on him".

"I need to go back my disciple is waiting" when the sect master said that a smile blossomed on his face.

"Sect master you spoil you're disciple so much" Elder Feng said.

"Hahaha" the sect master laughed as he flew back with Elder Feng following.

Han Qin killed the last remaining beast as he put its head in the bag, "that's 20". Han Qin then sprinted back towards the sect, after 3 hours he walked into the mission place and handed the bag to the elder.

The elders face widened as he couldn't believe it, 'he can jump two levels?!" Although it's was rare it was that rare as in the sect along they had cultivators hat could jump two levels.

As he received his points from the elder he made his way to the library. He walked in a servant came and said "what you like esteemed cultivator", "I'd like to know the section where there are the movement arts" Han Qin replied.

The servant then showed him the section.

Han Qin browsed through them and couldn't find any he liked, "hmm" he looked a book that said [Ethereal Steps], he read the description.

At the first level you could travel as fast as a winged beast and as agile as panthers , the second level you're agility would take a leap being as agile as a galago, the third level said you could materialise Ethereal wings. With each breakthrough the agility would take a leap.

Han Qin was wondering how this was only on the first level of the library, but he then realise as he read on why. 'This can only practiced by cultivators who are willing to break their bones'

Han Qin taken aback wondered what that sentence meant, "kid don't practice that" he looked to find a Elder looking at him as he asked "why".

"Because the last person who did, they became crippled, you have read it right this can only be practiced if you are willing to put tremendous stress on you body to the point that you bones could break".

"What about it saying you will be able to fly in the Qi condensation realm?" Han Qin asked, "oh that, that's probably a lie, afterall you won't be able to reach the second level let alone the third and even if you did it's impossible for a Qi condensation cultivator to fly" the elder said.

Han Qin was not fazed so he went to the servant and said "I'll be taking this" the servant taken aback said "t-that'll be 10 sect points" Han Qin handed his sect badge.

"Haah, why do these kids have to be stubborn", the elder said, "anyways I'll take a look and make sure he doesn't go too far". By now the whole sect knew about Han Qin being able to jump two levels.

So he was regarded in a high manner by the sect.

Han Qin went back to his house as he went out in the courtyard to practice the Ethereal Steps.

Han Qin took out the manual looking at it, in the Qi condensation realm a cultivator isn't able to fly, only when a cultivator reaches the Foundation Establishment can they fly.

"If what this movement art says is true, and I'm able to get the Ethereal wings then in the Qi condensation I'll be able to fly giving me an advantage".
