Chapter 5 Preys battling against predators

Dust swirled around as the sword came down with great momentum. Muhammad's scimitar turned deep grey, resembling the iron ores which come deep from the underground.

Abel's face distorted into a serious look because this was an infamous sword. A sword that was given to the best desert warrior in the kingdom which fell 100 years ago. The gods wanted to take this treasure, but it had disappeared for no reason. It said that the former greatest assassins of the continent took it with them as it belonged to the late royal general who commanded them.

" That is the infamous sword of Hazak, huh?! It is an honor to exchange slashes with it."

Abel said, smiling with excitement. Although Hazak was a proper artifact that could rank over in the top 10, it was nowhere near reaching the level of a divine sword.

Even so, Muhammad didn't show any fear on his face. He was observing every step of Abel to gain upper hand. When Abel steps right, he follows to close the distance between them since Mahesh had more length than Hazak. Moreover, the heat slash was a terrible attack. Henceforth, he blocked his sword before Abel generates it.

Bang*

Muhammad grabs Abel's wrist and headbutts him. A heavy feeling of dizziness came to Abel who was stunned by such moves because this was a sword fight. He never fought a person who had no proper techniques.

Abel wiped the blood from his nose as he analyzed what was happening to him. In combat, he knew he was a superior swordsman, but Muhammad had more flexibility and experience than him.

Abel stomped on the ground as his feet started to burn it. The ground was heating up from the immense heat which he was generating at the moment. The hissing sound of sand could be heard at this moment.

Muhammad frowned as he blocked the heat with his mana. He saw the ground was turning into something due to immense heat.

" Are you mad? You are angering the God of the desert."

Muhammad commented, ignoring the cold looks of the soldiers. He was worried about the fury of god since he saw it before. The gods weren't benevolent beings, they would consider other God's apostles as an act of aggression if they are in their territory with their divine weapons. Furthermore, they would be furious if they were attacked for no reason since the field was their flesh and blood in some ways.

Swoosh*

The sand swirled around them as the statue of God rose from the ground. A sandman with a spear stood before them, excluding a power beyond their imagination. The soldiers felt their bones crunched by this man who was glaring at Abel with a cold look.

" Son of Sun, cease this. Otherwise, bear the wrath of the desert."

He spoke while looking at Abel. Abel also knew he made a taboo. Therefore, he stopped using his divine might.

" Oh God, I didn't mean to offend you. We are on a quest of slaying the evil."

He said while bowing down with respect. The desert god snorted coldly at his remark.

" This is a site of my fallen sister. The sun doesn't need to be here without permission from the moon and desert. I will warn you this time."

He said, stomping his spear that shook the entire city with its might. Abel and Muhammad all knelt before him because they knew he was angry.

The sandman glanced around him as he saw the faces of mortals who were creating chaos in his territory, but he didn't kill him.

" Leave the girl alone. Whether she succeeds or not, doesn't matter to Sun. Additionally, there are a few uninvited guests here. Deal with them. Their smells are polluting my land."

God spoke while looking at the city wall with indifference. With a single word of him, the walls crumbled down as a few figures rose from the rubbles. They were jet-black outfits with red sword insignia on them.

" The Fallen!"

Abel said, gritting his teeth with hatred. He extended his hand to Muhammad to reconcile with him.

" I knew I was wrong, but please help me to subdue them. I will explain it to our God."
