Chapter 16 Fury of the monks

Pi immediately dashed to the town with a worried expression on his face, his feeling was yelling that something was wrong. Something went wrong.

Crack*

The ground burst open with each step he took, he was like a speeding bullet that pierced everything. His muscles left an impression of an iron body since it was bulging under his uniform.

Wang followed from behind him with a serious expression on his face. He was closely tailing him with his incredible speed. His long black hair fluttered behind as he stepped on the ground like a feather. Although he was blind, his senses were extremely sharp enough to perceive the things that eyes couldn't do. He felt the pain of Pi who was known for his protective behavior. He loved his disciples very much that he always gave them an easy missions and took the hardest mission for himself.

" Oh no!"

Pi said, looking at the town with a bewildered look. His eyes almost bulged out from his socks and he almost tore his beads with his sudden movement.

Wang smelled a burnt smell of corpses and trees. His face crumbled into a furious face as his brows creased together.

Pi took a deep breath and jumped into the air as he darted to the town remaining. He was hoping for the survival of the town folks since they were innocent people.

" Please."

He muttered while looking down at the rubbles from the sky. His scarlet beads immediately turned into dark beads, indicating his inner wrath.

" Who did this!"

He shouted, smashing down to the ground with a heavy face. His landing shook the land and blew away the remaining smoke from the air. His loud voice attracted the attention of the survivors.

Wang landed behind him. He silently listened around him. Cries of despair, the joy of survival, and silence of the lost souls can be heard through in the air. Wang felt his ears burning from the emotions of the deceased.

They were asking why they didn't protect them in their needs and where they were. Wang recalled the smell and sound of the once cheerful town, now all that was left was destruction.

" Grandmasters, I am sorry. I couldn't protect the town from the invader. We lost most of us to the fire. It couldn't be put out with water."

The Mayor choked on his words, tears swelling in his eyes. He remembered the wailing of the deceased when they were struggling to save their families. They were doing their best to save at least one person in process of exchanging their fates.

" Who did this, mayor? Where are Lua and Lao?"

Pi asked, grabbing him by his shoulder. His voice trembling with fear as he was expecting the worst. He knew this fire was an irregular one since he could feel the essence of it.

" I am sorry. All, I found were bloodstained stairs and unconscious Lua in the temple. The spirit was silent as the moon."

The Mayor hangs his head down with hesitation.

Boom*

The ground cracked under them due to the immense power of the qi of Pi. His uniform was fluttering from his pure energy as his eyes were filled with fury.

Wang patted his shoulder to remind him where they were. Pi touched his hand and put it down with incredible strength. He was in no mood to calm down since he heard the worst news he could imagine.

He ran to the temple without any hesitation. He wanted to see the leftovers of the battle.

" Wait!"

Wang tried to calm him down, but Pi paid no heed to his words. His reasoning was already gone to the ground and all that remained was the last hope for the survival of his disciples.

" No!"

He shouted, looking at the stars with regret on his face. He touched the charred stairs with a slightly mad look on his face.

He was touching the ground with an unbelieving look as he tried to grasp what happened here. He found a piece of cloth and flesh from the stairs and he knew who was the owner of this was.

It was the last disciple of Shanu and a kid who was the brightest in his perspective.

" It is Lao. He had died here. Our disciple was murdered in cold bleed here. They didn't even leave his body intact and I feel a dark spirit power around here. There were two of them."
