Chapter 12 Monsters are everywhere
Somewhere near the great mountains of Axels, the stronghold of various sects, societies, and clans exists to protect their goals and honors. Some worship the great celestial gods that were born in the first cosmos. Some worship the living gods on this planet. However, not all of them were honorable and just. Especially, Crimson Society was one of them. They were in the west line of the great mountain range and they existed before the current kingdoms were created.
As their leader, Bewitching Devil- Chroma was the former leader of the strongest military group in the glorious era. She led countless battles despite her gender and weakness and won immortality for her ambition, but that wasn't the end. She yearned for more and she was willing to do anything for that and she did that. She sealed off her liege in the realm of darkness and usurped his power. Moreover, she formed a new organization and found suitable candidates for her journey. Ruthless beings were freed from the grasp of death. Her mind was twisted beyond anyone can salvage.
Chroma sat before the mirror, combing her deep blue hair with a gentle look. If somebody looks at her face, they would think she was a beautiful woman in her 20s without any hardship in her life. She had beautiful blue eyes with long eyelashes and her face was one of the most exquisite faces in the world.
" What is the matter, Margaret? Have you finished the job?"
Chroma asked, putting down her comb. Her voice was cold and each word she spoke was filled with mana. Margaret wiped her sweat with anxiety. Although she had an ancient God's power, Chroma was in a whole new league. She suspected her of being in the same league as those southern gods who were ruling the entire continent.
" Yes, the king has been killed. As you expected, Eldrich and Constantine were the main leaders."
Margaret spoke, taking out a photo from her breasts and handing it over to Chroma. Chroma didn't do anything except looking at the corpse of the king.
" An incompetent fool as he was. Constantine is quite clever and strong. He strongly resembles the son of the sky. I have battled against him before. He was a monster like him. As for Eldrich, he tamed the devil himself. Although I don't know which devil's power he got, his intelligence is one of a kind. Pity, he didn't join our society. A person like him would be a great asset since we don't have any strategist here."
She sighed while putting a golden hair band on her hair. The golden hairband was decorated with various engravings and jewels from an unknown source, but there was one thing in the middle of that. It was like a blood-red ruby with unknown black liquid inside. It was moving like a living being inside the gem.
The shivers ran down Margaret's back when she saw this. She swore this was much more terrifying than the death zone where she used to live. The undead were terrifying creatures, but this black goo was something eerier. Without Chroma's control, this thing would unleash something horrifying in this world.
" Don't look at it like that. Although it is scary, it is still obedient."
Chroma smiled, showing her pure white teeth. She was amused to see her scared look since Margaret was a basically monster. Perhaps, her instincts kicked in when she saw the gem.
Margaret embedded her nails into her palms to keep her calm. She raised her head and chuckled.
" Then I am taking my leave. If you need me, send a message."
Margaret spoke, turning around quickly to avoid her gaze. Her steps quickened as she closed the door. Chroma laughed at her remark and touched her face with interest. Things were getting interesting for her. She was bored to death after controlling everything she desired.
" Fill me up more and I will reward you. Furthermore, I can feel the presence of chaos. Huhu, this will be grandiose."
Her blue eyes were filled with madness as she turned the mirror to dust. The space vibrated around her, showing how powerful she was. The strongest time and mind mage was ready to appear once again in this world.
