Emerald Ocean

{Announcement} Got a notification about being put in some kinda promising books event or whatever which I guess could be considered feedback so I'ma get to work on this book again... Gotta finish that there last arc... My little Gieco Lizard deserves death!!! --- Inside a garden full of towering trees untold years old that sadly have inferiority complexes caused by the never ending giant tower that supports the sky that the garden sits in front. Upon the branch of one of the smallest trees in the garden, the last of it's kind of the tallest it's breed of tree was ever been able to grow as well as the oldest, sits a beautiful fairy who seems but the size of a squirrel emotionless sipping tea watching the leaves fall off the leaves of the tree as if having already given up on life when suddenly a wind passes by the eternally still garden and everything gently quakes as the infinite number of lines along the towers base lights up gently with a blazing emerald flame that is bordering on black. As if struck by a earth quake the woman falls out of her chair unbearably shaking as her eyes lock upon a thing far away in the infinitely large garden not a plant, not a tree, but the ground itself. A crazy and hopeful fire begins to burn deep within the beautiful fairies eyes as reaches out her hand and with a determined look shatters the very core of her soul sending a piece of herself out into the earth and herself tumbling listlessly into a deep sleep alone on the branch. Hope still burning in her eyes even as they slowly close and a twisted smile upon her lips. Like a bolt of lightning the core of her soul that was a part of her soul but not at the same time takes flight towards the sky circling around the crown of the small tree twice before gently bumping into the already sleeping woman as if in sorrow before flashing away faster then the eye could see reaching a distance so far you wouldn't be able to walk it in a million years even if you could travel at the speed of light and diving into the soil of a solitary mound of dirty diving deeper and deeper it eventually stops and flashes so bright it can even be suttly seen from the garden above as the deep blue light like the ocean fuses into the very core of an single solitary atom inside the soil as if slipping through a crack. Across a vast and unending expanse of sky a brilliant flash of blue light up the very core of a universe before zooming away in the exact instant it appeared as if nothing their ever mattered not the massive throne, the unending number of people fighting for it, nor the ghastly little hut that's door has never opened in all of its existence and that space has warped the top of that no eyes made of flesh has ever seen and no man has ever hoped to enter. One, Ten, A Hundred, A thousand, A Million, A Billion, an untold number more stars pass by as they begin to trail together before the light finally find a crack. Not in space, not in time, not in anything but itself simply existing like it's always existed. The space between filled with nothing. Diving into the crack without even slowly down the blue light seems to fade from existence as if it was never there. Slowly but surely as the blue light fades so does the crack before with it's last peek a suttle flash of Emerald escapes being vanishing from sight. The gentle beam of light flew out never stopping till it struck a nearby planet. As the light was absorbed by that planets inhabitants something... Awoke.

Ch. 81 Running Through the Night

"Thump thump thump thump" A series of hollow thuds sounding out as the leather-bound shoes strike the ground swiftly. The sudden act of running out of the crowd caught a few eyes but no one really paid it any mind and just went back to what they were doing mildly curious. It had been almost an hour since then I couldn't help them run or risk leaving a trail. In the dark woods, it's not a big deal as it would be hard to find for most but sadly I am already aware of how brightly my mist shines in the eyes of the undead. That ghost ship taught me that. They seemed to not be killing just to kill but out of pure unreasonable hatred. The hate in their eyes was clear but I didn't understand till later. It was when Alex mentioned how my mist could act as a spark to the rebirth of Addie. It wasn't because I am special in any way or about how strong my mist is but simply because my mist bears an elemental affinity of life. That's why the undead despise it so. It reminds them of what they lost and many bad memories like every enemy they have ever held and their murderer just showing up to spit in their face while banging their wives. Of course, they'd show hatred. Despair. A little fear? Regardless the mist is a no-go. After escaping a good way we eventually heard hoofbeats along the ground and Addie quickly pulled Ellie aside and they hid inside a nearby bush.

As they approached curiosity overwhelmed the poor Ellie and she looked out only to quickly pull her head back after seeing the two riders on horseback rushing by. A large man carrying a humongous ax upon his back and a headless man in sleek black robes with a large bone staff on his back with a glass orb filled with viscous crimson-brown liquids. The musty smell of iron and rotten flesh fills the air as the two passes. I can guess who the headless caster is but the large knight isn't totally unfamiliar for me either. His uncovered face clearly reminding me of the first time I saw the necromancer. He was the one that brought the struggling woman before the necromancer and ripped her clothes off. Seeing him decked out in heavy armor and carrying a large ax I have to wonder if I should have attacked him then... The subtle bloody glow the armor and ax put off makes it very clear it's not anything simple and cheap. Seeing them escape out of view Addie grabs Ellie and pulls her quickly towards another direction. A few minutes of running later the sound of the girl's heavy painting and feet striking the ground is all we heard till there was the sound of a bell that broke through the quiet night from behind us. Quickly pulling Ellie to the side again they hide beneath a tree that had been dug under clearly an uninhabited den. Just as we escape the ringing of the bell passed into the sight large hounds with hollow eyes and bloody mouths come into sight leaving a putrid rotting stench in the air. I know those can't be tracking hounds as no sense of smell could ever work over this stench... I mean seriously it'd be like listening for whispers in a crowd of people yelling with bullhorns. Seeing the hounds rushing by both the girls held their breath and covered their noses. Clearly, these dogs must be going by sound. As they are blind and their noses are deformed and rotting. The sense of smell is a form of sensory response and the undead knew for having very worthless nervous systems and senses. Unless they are a lich or a high-ranked undead with a strong soul which these dogs definitely aren't...

Seeing the dogs have disappeared Addie frowns. "They've clearly filled the forest already and are searching it. Otherwise, we wouldn't run into them randomly without them being able to track us like this. Hiding isn't a good option. Ellie, we need the..." Interrupted she sees my mist slowly spreading around us. Yeah, yeah I am not so dumb as to not already understand the situation. We can't hide in this forest so why not hide the whole forest and find all the enemies while we are at it? Seeing me already releasing my mist Addie's mask sticks out slightly on the lower half either she's smiling or pouting... One of the two. Ha... Gathering all my mist in a clearly twenty or so feet away from us while we hide in the bush I begin to make little trails from the swirling ball of mist that's slowly growing as I add more making sure that even if it's found they won't find us and they won't be able to follow the green light or the mist slowly filling the ball. Seeing me working Addie nods and lays low as I create the mass of mist. A few minutes later a bell sound breaks out as a hound darts by us towards the mist ball in the distance seeing the ball the hound immediately stopped and raised his head like an arrow coming from his chest pointing towards the sky and let out a deep and gravely howl. I guess we are found. No more time to continue to build up the mist slowly. With a thought, the ball becomes a bomb as the mist explodes out of it like a strong wind of air flowing outwards covering a large section of the forest as Addie and Ellie quickly hop up and begin to run away I've already struck a tree loudly in the distance with a cloud claw cutting a branch loose and making a loud bang as it fell. The hound hearing the noise runs off before it can discover the girl my claw already dissipating back into the mist. I'd kill you any other time little hound but fighting now might just make matters worse no time. So began an escape slowly making their way out of the woods the girls managed to evade all the undead while I distracted them eventually reaching the other side of the woods and onto a clear field the girls slow their paces already aware they managed to escape the encirclement they can let the exhaustion take over a little but Addie urged Ellie on pulling her as they kept walking on until they eventually reached a road and I made a cloud path for them and they ran till daybreak with the support of my cloud path on and off. I couldn't eat my mist as that would show the necromancer which way we ran so I left it hanging there wondering to myself how long it'll last.
