“I don’t know what to do about my life from this moment on,” he admitted with a sigh, avoiding Thomas’s gaze. “I feel like I have to help my brother, but I don’t want to do it like…like he asks me to. I’d like to tell him I’m leaving, but I don’t know where to go. I’d like to find a job, but there’s just one thing I’m good at. I don’t want you to hurt him, but I know…I know he isn’t a good person…”
Thomas repressed a grimace because knowing what Elias was talking about and the mention of his brother made him think about it.
“What do you think about sleeping a little more and thinking about it tomorrow?”
“And what will happen tomorrow?” Elias’s questions always had heavy meanings and involved solutions that were hard to find.
“We’ll be together.”
It was the only answer Thomas was able to give. 15
