In a world of aliens, magic and superheroes, Miles and Gwen are just two super teens trying to be normal for the holidays. But what happens if they meet a hero from another dimension trying to do the same. And what if the universe throws them into another adventure. Spiderverse x Avengers x Avatar LoK
With their first official mission, finally complete, Gwen and Miles head back to Korra's place. Gwen crashes on the couch and Miles falls right next to her. The two happily cuddle for a moment as Gwen rests her eyes.
When she opens it back up, it was already morning. Gwen looks around and finds her boyfriend laying on the floor, happily snoring.
'Rough night?' Gwen turns her head and sees Korra standing there with a cup of coffee.
'Ohh, is that for me?' Gwen asks.
'No. Get your own', replies Korra making the younger woman pout.
Gwen heads to the kitchen and makes two cups of coffee. She heads back to the living room and places them of the living room table. 'Wake up, dummy', she says to the boy laying on the floor. Miles opens his eyes and lazily rubs them before climbing on the couch to take a seat.
'Here you go'. Gwen gives him a mug which he groggily takes.
'So, what do you think about last night?' Korra asks them both.
'I think everything went pretty smooth didn't it. Until the bomb, that is', Gwen answers seriously. 'We've never had people trying to blow a building before. Not even the Kingpin would go that far'.
Korra shakes her head. 'Actually, he would. But Spider-man and all the other heroes stop him and every other criminals before they could do any real damage.
Gwen looks at her, unable to speak.
Korra continues. 'So far, you two only ever faced low scale criminals. Even Vulture and the new Doc Ock only do bank heists at most'.
'What? No we haven't'. Gwen thinks about it and realize she was telling the truth.
Korra smiles. 'Yep, that's right. We let you two take care of the baddies but when the stakes get too high, we step in'.
Gwen looks down in disappointment. 'So all this time, we were just playing hero?'
Korra moves next to her and puts her hand on the now gloomy teen's shoulder. 'Don't put yourself down. All those times when you helped those people, when you put criminals behind bars, all of that was you. Remember what Director Fury said, you two have the potential to be Avengers. But we can't just throw you into world ending catastrophes without any experience'.
'So everything we've done so far was training', says Gwen quizzically.
'Yep. And the mission we're doing now is the director's way of kicking things up a notch'.
Gwen becomes more upbeat, hearing that. 'Okay, we'll take him on on his challenge. You'll see'.
'I know you will', says Korra with shrug. 'You kids are good at that, it seems'.
Gwen grins. 'So, what do we do next?'
---
Miles scream echoes inside the empty building. 'STOP! I GIVE UP' he screams with through gritted teeth.
'What do you mean?' Korra says with a mischievous grin. 'This is just the warm up. Now, take a deep breath'. Korra pulls on the ropes attached to Mile's ankles making him do a full split. Miles screams harder.
After about an hour of Korra's so called warm up, the two are finally ready for the real thing. 'Alright, get ready to get your ass kicked, lady', Miles says still trying to feel his lower half. Gwen and Korra both smile at that.
'Sucks for you, kid. But you ain't fighting me today'. Korra instead and goes to the back of the building and returns to them with a puffy little kitten.
'Wait, you want us to fight a cat?' asks the two.
'No. That's just dumb. I want you to chase it'.
Gwen and Miles smiles at that. This is probably the easiest training they've done. After all, they've gone after villains like Electro who could literally move as fast as lightning. One overweight, although cute, cat won't even be a problem for them.
Korra lets go of the cuddly thing but just as the two was about to go after it, Korra stops them. 'It's not gonna be that easy. You'll also be wearing these'. Korra brings out a briefcase with a SHIELD logo on it. She opens it and inside are two sets of bracelets. 'Take it. These are power dampeners. It'll limit all your physical abilities, basically turn you back to normal people. If you can catch that little fur ball while wearing these, you'll both pass this training. Now chop-chop'.
---
Gwen sits on the floor already too tired to chase the cat. Miles is still going after it, laughing as he jumps around after the cuddly thing. Korra, on the other hand, left early to meet up with the guy with a chicken, Eddie. Damn woman. Going on a date when she's supposed to be giving us actual training, she thinks to herself. She stands up, ready to go again.
'Miles go left. We'll corner it in the corridor' she orders him. She starts running but feels her body moving against her, definitely the work of Korra's magic bracelet. She goes right, blocking any of the cat's other path and the two lead it towards an empty corridor. The kitten runs as fast as it can but with it short legs, that wasn't really much. Miles leaps to the other end of the corridor. With the small feline now trapped between the two heroes, it does its best to hiss at them. Gwen and Miles slowly walk towards it and at the very last moment, leaps to the creature. Gwen aims for it's hind legs but before she could even touch it, the cat manages to jump and lands over Miles' shoulder. The two heroes crash into each other with the cat landing on top of Miles' head. It meows before it jumps down and walks away.
'Does that cat have super powers or something?' says Miles to her downed partner.
'With SHIELD being what it is, I bet that cat got training from Black Widow', replies Gwen.

It was already late in the afternoon when Korra returns to the abandoned building which was their current training ground. Based on all the yelling and grunting, the two kids still haven't caught her little kitten yet. She goes inside to find Miles lying on the floor and the kitten on top of him, happily pawing at his face. Gwen, on the other hand, is holding a giant trash bag while glaring at the cat. Gwen pounces at it with the bag over her head. However, at the very last moment, the fur ball jumps out of the way and the girl crashes towards the boy. They both groan making Korra burst out with laughter.
Gwen huffed at the still giggling woman. 'What the hell is that because that is definitely not a cat?'
'Yeah. It's already whooped both our butts and it hasn't even thrown a punch yet', Miles adds.
Korra's laugh eventually dies down as she picks up the kitten who was busy snuggling itself on her legs. 'Well, just so you know, these little thing here is named Prophet, and yes, he can actually see the future'.
The two eye it with suspicion. Korra continues. 'SHIELD found it some time ago when they raided some Hydra bases in Guatemala. They found this little tike in one of the cages and rescued it'.
'Wait so SHIELD has a cat superhero now?' asks Miles.
'Not heroes. But SHIELD's rescued quite a lot of superpowered animals over the years. They even have a whole base in the Philippines to raise em. I used to be stationed there being a vet and all'.
The two look at each other with wide eyes. 'I'm definitely going there', says Gwen, full of determination. 'What's the whole point of this training anyway? If the little thing can see the future, I doubt either of us would be able to actually catch it, not without our powers, at least'.
'I used to talk to Parker a couple of times, you know. And before I got sent here to watch over you kids, I asked him everything I need to know about you. He tells me all three of you can sense when danger is coming. You call it spidey-sense or something, which is pretty dumb name, by the way. The point is, I want you to use that for this training'.
'That's not how it works, though' says the two of them. 'It tells us when we're in danger. It doesn't show us what that cat of yours will do next'.
Korra puts her hand on her forehead and sighs. 'It also senses when other people are in danger, doesn't it?'
The two nod. 'Yeah, sometimes'.
'Then that means its not just any kind of mumbo jumbo trick that you Spider-people do. Right now, you only use it on instinct, limited by your self-preservation. If you can find a way to harness that power, you'll be able to sense things before they even happen'.
The two look at her, jaws hanging. Finally, Miles responds. 'That's just dumb'.
Korra groans.
