The warm breeze flew through Amora's hair and made her turn to look back and see how far they'd gotten. She could tell it wasn't much.
"So uh, Carly, why was the forest on fire again?" Leon asked questioningly.
"Andrew and I got attacked by Darkness," Amora announced while looking toward the treeline. She put her hand on the back of her neck and realized that there was a cut there that had already scabbed over.
She put her hand down and turned to look back at the distance they'd traveled again and smiled as she realized that they got pretty far in just five minutes.
"So A-Carly how is it meeting your favorite heroes?" Andrew asked almost calling her Amora. "It's great!" She replied smiling but she felt her face burning with anger from him announcing this out loud.
"Wait, what? We are your favorite heroes?" Leon asked seeming exciting but also seeming embarrassed. Amora noticed this awkwardness and decided to reply with, "Well ever since I was young I saw people talking about you guys on TV, and I wanted to be just like you but didn't know what an element was really."
Amora then looked at Leon and using her brain compared them to the images from long ago, and they must have been as young as Reyon had said because the images from when they were around seventeen or eighteen were almost exactly like them now.
"Okay, so if you are still wondering, we are going for a place where we can help train you," Reyon said without turning to look at them.
"What? No. Carly and I are leaving, why would we need training? Come on Carly." Andrew said seemly turning from normal to angry and clingy.
"No. Listen. The reason we are training you-" Leon couldn't say another word because Andrew had burst out in anger, "No! I don't care, I need Carly to come with me now!"
Leon seemed frustrated but continued anyway. "That tornado that we observed earlier wasn't normal. It's the same one that devastated my town. It destroyed it and took everyone with it. Those innocent people were taken and if you had found out what happened to them then you'd understand what we need to train you for." Leon said as he drank from his water bottle and continued, "So when it happened to me it left Reyon, my friend, and I there, while everyone else was gone, in this situation they are gone and you are here, that must mean something, and if Darkness attacks you again we would rather you protect your friend Carly."
Leon finished and stopped by a tree, putting his foot against it while turning around. He then flipped his leg and the tree snapped and fell very fast with a CRUNCH.
"I don't need training. I can take care of Carly myself." Andrew said seemingly calmer now.
"Well it didn't seem to work in the forest when I tried protecting you in the end," Amora said while looking at the ground sadly.
"Please, at least let me learn now that I'm an Elemental."
"Fine, Whatever," Andrew said looking away angrily after a long pause.
Amora let out a sigh and Leon walked towards her and told her to unholster her blade, she did so and heard the loud sound of it sharpening. "Now Rat told me that the holster will also take samples of blood from the person you cut it with. He altered your blade to soak the blood and release it into the holster so that you can identify some things about the person, it might even help with finding out their element," he told her.
Reyon looked towards Leon and tilted her head as if asking if she could mention something, Leon replied with a nod. "So Leon has a certain ability where if he tastes someone's blood he can gain their element, of course, he wouldn't tell the public this, as to stop from people coming after him with their slit wrists,"
Reyon said while holding her wrist up to Leon's mouth. Suddenly they both started laughing and so did Amora. It was quite peaceful.
After calming down they started showing her how to un-holster the blade fast enough and turning the motion of unsheathing into an attack as well. They then started training her agility, they helped her become more agile even though it was a small amount of training, Amora knew to keep trying.
"So Carly, now we are going to test your element." Reyon said, then continued with, "Aim your hand at that wall right there and concentrate, imagine different things so we can determine your element. You said it's fire so try thinking of burns and burning." Reyon finally finished but Amora had a question to ask first, "If you have fire, how could I have fire?"
Reyon replied, "Well, some things like fire elements can be common or somewhat common, so if you have fire it doesn't mean much because I've met people with fire of all sorts of colors, but it's rare for two elementals to have the same color."
Amora nodded her head and faced towards the wall and raised her hand to her stomach but pushed out a little. "Burning, smoke, heat." Amora thought of fire-related things when suddenly fire shot out of her hand in a thin red-ish, blue shot.
"So you and Reyon do have the same color of fire, what a beautiful rarity," Leon said, smiling.
"Are you crying?" Reyon asked while laughing at him.
"What?! No!" Leon and Reyon yelled back and forth while laughing.
They were all walking back to another location when suddenly Reyon brought up something completely random to Amora, "Sometimes I wonder what my child's element would have been." She was looking at the ground while saying this but was somewhat smiling.
"Sometimes, just sometimes, Leon and I would talk about what element our child would have gotten if it was from him, I mean he has a lot of elements, and I just have fire, so I decided that maybe that child would have Air from him, while he thought of Water from him. I mean maybe they could have both of our elements, I mean our friend's daughter has two elements, electricity and water."
Amora stopped walking when Reyon had said this sentence. "Wait. Does it happen to be Shirley Radke?"
"Yeah! You knew her?" Reyon asked, smiling.
"Yeah, but after the tornado threw my bus I don't know where she went. She disappeared with the rest of the students. I don't know how to find her now."
"Andrew and I lost everyone else and were hoping that we'd find them," Amora said aiming her head toward the ground as they continued making their way to the next location.
In the corner of her eye, Amora saw Andrew with his arms crossed and he had an angry look on his face as he had been staring at her.
Amora looked away and kept walking, Leon finally said slowly and quietly, but seemingly panicked. "Look! Some people are going into the building." Reyon lifted her hand a little, her face changing into a look of being ready to fight.
"Carly, stay behind me but when you get inside and if you see one, try using your abilities to fight." Amora stood bewildered at what Reyon had said but she nodded and replicated Reyon's stance.
Once they reached the entrance, Leon opened the door slowly and made his way in first. Reyon then let Amora walk in, then Andrew followed and so did Reyon as she closed the door.
Amora walked into a hallway and didn't realize that they had all split up. Amora just kept looking around, until she came upon a dark room.
She entered and stood still for a second until an idea came to mind. "Maybe this will work?" Amora wondered as she tried lighting her hand on fire.
It worked and it lit up a tiny part of the room, right as she did this she realized someone was standing up against the wall. She jumped back but the person was too fast as they hit Amora with something sharp, causing her to fall back and slide across the floor.
The person jumped towards Amora and before they could slice into her again something hit the person and they flew back and hit the wall, they got ready to fight again, but Amora looked to her side to see Andrew with a sword made from his paper.
He then grabbed Amora's hand to help her up but then turned back to the person that Amora could only recognize as a man. The man then came towards them while jumping from side to side, but Andrew managed to shoot paper at him, Amora (without thinking) shot her flames at the paper and it ignited, leading to the man and blowing him back, the fire also traced back to the source, which just so happened to be Andrew's hand.
Andrew fell to his knees holding his hand. Amora ran over to him carefully and noticed his hand was smoking. She apologized for what she had done and he told her that he was fine and not to worry.
He slowly started healing. Amora stood up with him as Leon and Reyon walked into the room, they ran over to them and Leon poured some water onto Andrew's hands and it seemed to heal faster than before.
Leon then helped Amora up and started covering her left arm in bandages from his bag to help stop her bleeding. They then started towards the next section of the building and Leon suddenly said, "On T.V. have you ever seen the part where they talk about me and a lab?" Amora had to think for a minute as her shoes crunched on the broken glass coating the floor.
"Well, yes actually, something about you being tested on by your father, they then mentioned something about Darkness but he wouldn't let me continue watching to that part. Why'd you ask?"
Leon turned and smiled. "Of course he didn't let you see that part. It's about how he was created and why he destroyed the lab. I, on the other hand, was being tested on because my father wanted to increase my healing speed and I was born with two elements, Absorption of Elements and Air, and recently there was some weird occurrence of elementals being born with more than one Element, because Reyon over here has only fire." He said as he pointed towards Reyon. He then started walking again and they got to a large door.
"Well, Carly this door leads to a place you probably wanted to see anyway, with you being our fan and all."
"It's the laboratory I was tested on in," he said creepily.
Amora's face turned to surprise in a split second, and she smiled in return.
