FINALLY HERE

Abi felt like she had been travelling for days while it had just been a few hours. She was hungry, exhausted, and all the rush and excitement was drained from her body. She felt so weary and they weren't halfway there yet.

She had finished all the snacks she brought with her and was now staring at an innocent child's cookies. She drooled over the delicious chocolate chip cookie and wished she could have a bite of it or even the fallen crumbs!

She had no money left and wondered how she'll get to Crown Lake with an empty pocket. She hoped to find a part time job once she arrived so she could pay for her dad's monthly accomodations at the elderly home.

Eventually, the train finally stopped but Abi was greeted with the worst weather she had ever seen. It was raining heavily and she hadn't brought an umbrella. She looked at the dark skies and a thunder clap made her flinch.

She loved the rain but in this situation, she didn't like it very much.

She got off the train and immediately sought shelter. She stood under a closed stall. It was raining so heavily, she couldn't see a thing no matter how much she squinted her eyes. She looked beside her and saw a short girl wearing a huge leather jacket and black boots. The girl was also carrying the same kind of luggage as Abi was.

Then she heard her murmur "Now, how am I supposed to get to Crown Lake now?". Abi was glad she wasn't alone and she wanted to say hi, but something stopped her from saying hello so she just shut her mouth. A taxi finally rolled around and Abi rushed to it. It turned out she did have some money with her and she immediately boarded it.

She touched the smooth new leather seats in the taxi and observed the vehicle. The driver kept his eyes on the road and she kept wondering if she should engage in small talk but decided against it because she didn't know how people here responded to strangers.

The taxi finally stopped and the rain had also reduced a great deal. She could see students in their flashy cars and not even one on foot. She felt a bit embarrassed but she wasn't like them so there was no use to be the embarrassed. She paid the impatient man and took a really deep breath before walking out.

She stood at the huge iron gates and admired the sight, taking it all in. She just stood and gazed at the beauty. She smiled, forgetting the fact that her clothes and bags were soaking wet. She was finally here.

She grabbed her bags and headed inside. The sight inside was even more magnificent. She stared at the architectural structure of the whole school. She didn't have time to take it all in because she had to get out of the rain.

She headed for the first building she saw but before she could do anything, a car passed by her and splashed mud all over her. She stared at the car that just pulled up a few centimeters from where she stood.

Abi was from a village yes, but that didn't mean she tolerated nonsense. She walked over to the car an knocked on the window. A man in a driver outfit came out of the passenger's seat and said with an apologetic look and said "Look missy, I'm really sorry. Please don't create a scene".

Abi wasn't ready to listen to this apologetic man. She wanted to speak to the driver himself. So she went around the car and knocked on the window. She was fuming with anger. Just because she was on foot didn't mean, she'll have to be treated like crap.

She bent down as soon as she sensed the door was opening, picked up some mud and smouldered it all over the driver's white furry coat. She felt satisfied and was about to give a really long lecture about human rights before she looked up to stare at the buffoon who splashed mud all over her.
