Emmy was under the root of a tree that looked colossal to her.
The storm was less powerful inside the root, and she hoped it would be seen as a house. She hoped beyond hope that the scary Storm Dreams wouldn't come to eat her.
She held back the tears and silently crawled into herself. Suddenly, a shadow loomed over the tree, and her heart began to thump. It was one of the wolf-like Storm Dreams that had landed on the ground!
Her face paled as it began to sniff.
It was so much bigger than a human, not to mention a Spirit like her. Its damp and dark fur itself gave her the shivers as dark eyes gazed around. She ducked away, unwilling to look.
Sniff.
Sniff. Sniff.
The Storm Dream turned towards her; its eyes perked up as the scent of dreams—so pure and wonderful—entered its nose. It pushed, and the tree she was hiding under blasted away from the root itself.
